The paper focuses on the analysis of small-scale strike-slip faults and second-order fractures in flat-lying Cieszyn Limestones of a quarry in Leszna Górna. In the western part of the Polish segment of the Outer Carpathians, the Silesian Nappe consists of two tectonic units: Cieszyn Unit and Godula Unit. The study area is located within the Cieszyn Unit. Several different kinds of tectonic structures have been distinguished, including mesoscale strike-slip faults, en echelon arrays, tip structures and linking structures. The investigations, including geometric and genetic analysis of strike-slip faults and fractures, have enabled reconstruction of structural evolution stages. Two evolutionary models are proposed in terms of the geometries of damage zones for small displacement strike-slip fault zones.

W pracy przedstawiono budowę geologiczną zachodniej części Kotliny Żywieckiej, między miejscowościami Lipowa i Radziechowy. Obszar, na którym były prowadzone badania znajduje się w strefie kontaktu trzech jednostek facjalno-tektonicznych zewnętrznych Karpat fliszowych (podśląskiej, cieszyńskiej i godulskiej), między żywieckim oknem tektonicznym, a blokiem Beskidu Śląskiego. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych prac zweryfikowano wcześniejszy obraz kartograficzny terenu zarówno pod kątem przebiegu granic głównych elementów strukturalnych, jak i przynależności litostratygraficznej występujących tu utworów. Pozwoliło to na, w miarę jednoznaczne, określenie bezpośredniego sąsiedztwa skałki w Leśnej z warstwami wierzowskimi i grodziskimi, które wraz z wyższą częścią warstw cieszyńskich tworzą tu sfałdowaną i złuskowaną strukturę jednostki cieszyńskiej. Wyraźny brak utworów typu olistostrom na tym obszarze zdaje się potwierdzać tektoniczną pozycję skałki w Leśnej, choć definitywnie nie wyklucza jej sedymentacyjnego charakteru.

The paper presents geological structure of the western part of the Żywiec Basin between Lipowa and Radziechowy. The area where the studies were carried out is located in the contact zone of three facial-tectonic units of the Outer Flysch Carpathians (Sub-Silesian, Cieszyn and Godula Units), between Żywiec tectonic window and the Beslid Śląski block. Based on the performed studies, the former cartographic representation has been verified with respect to an outline of the limits of major structural elements as well as to the lithostratigraphy of deposits occurring here. Thus, the beds neighbouring with the klippe in Leśna might be determined fairly unambigaously. These beds are designated Wierzowice and Grodziszcze Beds and together with the upper portion of the Cieszyn Beds form a folded and sliced structure of the Cieszyn Unit. Lacking olistostrome in this area seems to confirm the tedonic position of the klippe in Leśna although its sedimentary nature is not excluded.
