The article presents characteristics of air force logistics organisational structures in two basic kinds of NATO armed forces operations: in territorial defence system in Europe (SACEUR) and, as a rule, in Combined Joint Task Forces (CJTF). The results of analysed organisational developments show that conducting the logistic function towards the air force requires the participation of selective countries armed forces not only in combined but also in joint structures of the Alliance logistics. It refers both to the NATO allied logistics in the theatre or defence region scale and also CJTF whose multinationality may exceed allied countries. The range and specific character of multinational and joint organisational and executive logistic structures of Command and Control (C2) bodies should enforce parallel developments in our Armed Forces, or at least preparation to participate in NATO standard structures.

The authors, analysing NATO logistic modern principles and standards, see the necessity of our Armed Forces “logistic support”, Air Force logistics including. The first part of the article stresses the Polish Air Force participation conditions in “operations other than war”, i.e. in Combined Joint Task Forces - CJTF, recognised as the most complex and new for our Armed Forces operational requirements. Fulfilling these requirements, according to the authors may take place as a result of new legal regulations on different levels (inside the Armed Forces, state and international, with international and non-governmental organisations) and including lawyers into logistics staffs. The second part of the article presents the structure of legal NATO documents on the background of the process interpretation and standardisation levels. The authors suggest updating our Armed Forces “logistic regulations” and developing similar regulations foe selective armed forces branches, the Air Force including.
