This paper presents results of experimental tests and numerical analysis of reinforced concrete (RC)beams containing an additional carbon fibre rope strengthening. Two single-span RC beam specimenswith classical reinforcing bars and stirrups and one carbon fibre rope as near-surface mounted (NSM)strengthening were tested in a four-point bending test. The paper presents and compares the resultsregistered by the ARAMIS system during the test of two beams with carbon fibre rope under monotonicload with the results obtained in finite element analysis with Abaqus software using the concrete damagedplasticity model for concrete.

Numerical analysis of the tensioning cables anchorage zone of a bridge superstructure is presented in this paper. It aims to identify why severe concrete cracking occurs during the tensioning process in the vicinity of anchor heads. In order to simulate the tensioning, among others, a so-called local numerical model of a section of the bridge superstructure was created in the Abaqus Finite Element Method (FEM) environment. The model contains all the important elements of the analyzed section of the concrete bridge superstructure, namely concrete, reinforcement and the anchoring system. FEM analyses are performed with the inclusion of both material and geometric nonlinearities. Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) constitutive relation from Abaqus is used to describe nonlinear concrete behaviour, which enables analysis of concrete damage and crack propagation. These numerical FEM results are then compared with actual crack patterns, which have been spotted and inventoried at the bridge construction site.

W trakcie prac budowlanych związanych z wykonaniem centrycznego sprężenia podłużnego przęseł mostu doszło do silnych zarysowań betonu bloków kotwiących. Pojawiły się znaczne rysy/pęknięcia poziome w strefie zakotwień na wysokości zbrojenia siatkami. W referacie podjęto próbę opisu mechanizmu zniszczenia strefy zakotwień kabli wewnętrznych sprężenia podłużnego jednego z przęseł mostu z wykorzystaniem środowiska metody elementów skończonych (MES) systemu ABAQUS. Wykonano symulację numeryczną niepożądanych zjawisk lokalnych zarysowania w blokach kotwiących kable, które wystąpiło w trakcie procesu sprężania konstrukcji. Miało to na celu ustalenie, od strony mechaniki, przyczyn ich powstania, w kontekście zaprojektowanego i wykonstruowanego układu zbrojenia.

Content available remote Processing and characterization of cathodic dip coated metal/composite-laminates

The current trend shows an increasing demand for novel technologies, that facilitate a functional integration of fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) in metal based structures, especially in automotive industry. To comply with the requirements of large-scale production the use of fiber reinforced thermoplastics in form of hybrid metal/composite-laminates seems advantageous. By targeted exploitation of their high lightweight potential, combined with suitable capabilities for mass production and good damping properties, cost-effective and weight-optimized parts with high stiffness and load capacity can be provided for future applications. As there is little known about the processing and the mechanical properties of thermoplastic based FRP/metal-laminates, the study focuses on the development of novel hybrid laminates with low residual stresses, made of metallic steel sheets and continuous glass or carbon fiber reinforced polyamide 6. In this context, the influence of several pre-operations like sand blasting, cleaning or primer application on the interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) was examined in addition to their resistance to cathodic dip paint treatment.

W odniesieniu do istniejących rozwiązań rozpatrzono aspekty konstrukcyjne, metrologiczne statyczne i dynamiczne, ekonomiczne oraz problemy przetwarzania danych.

Here we present an analysis of metrologial properties and applications of a posturograph model designed by WSTI and MENSOR company. Constructional, metrological, statistical, dynamical, economic aspect as well as data analysis properties of the model were compared to existing solutions.

Praca dotyczy badania wpływu tekstyliów na obrazy wyładowań koronowych powstałe wokół opuszków palców rąk ochotników. Prezentowane badania mają na celu stwierdzenie czy fotografia wyładowań koronowych (FWK) jest wiarygodnym i rzetelnym źródłem informacji o stanie człowieka, który wchodzi w kontakt z tekstyliami. Stwierdzenie "stan człowieka" dotyczy zarówno jego emocji, jak również wybranych parametrów fizjologicznych. Choć motywem przewodnim pracy pozostaje FWK opuszków palców człowieka, to na uwagę zasługuje też fakt podjęcia działań zmierzających do odpowiedzi na pośrednio postawione pytanie o odczuwanie tekstyliów i ich, krótko - i długotrwałe, oddziaływanie na człowieka.

A corona discharge is an electrical discharge observed in gases which occurs on the surface of charged conductors. In the induced electrical field, charge carriers (free electrons and positive or negative ions) present in the air surrounding the surface of optic plate and the object collide with other charge carriers interacting with one another. An electrical impulse transmitted to the plate after placing an object on it stimulates the response of the object by the movement of charge carriers. Free electron re-association is followed by a visible glow. This phenomenon is recorded around the fingertip. The preliminary experiments present researches on the influence of cardiovascular disease of human on CDP of their fingertips. One of the symptoms that accompanies patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases is an excessive perspiration. The factors affecting the CDP are potassium concentration, urea and sodium concentration in patient`s blood. Those substances are removed from the organism also with sweat. Their excess or deficit has a significant impact on a character of corona discharge around fingertip of human. Analogous assumptions were accepted to design a first part of the experiment. Its main goal was finding out whether CDPs taken from fingertips of volunteers change while human beings stay in a short period of contact with textiles, other than those they wore in the moment of investigation. There are statistically significant differences between parameters of CDPs taken from fingertips while volunteers stayed in the contact with textiles made of different raw materials such as coarse wool, acrylic, viscose and they did not have contact with other textiles they wore. The second part is a continuation of the trend presented above. In that case an attempt was made to determine the long period influence of 2 sets of garments on changeability of CDP. The statistically significancant differences between textile sets were not detected in CDP of the volunteers. It is closely connected with adaptation of human organism to garments. The main aim of the third part is to find out whether the textiles, which were worn by the volunteers, have any influence on human organism subject to the physical effort. It was discovered that there are statistically significant differences between the values of respiratory coefficient registered during effort in volunteer wearing garments made of coarse wool and acrylic.
