Over the last several years the systems aimed at integrated management of product information including a part design, a process planning, and a sales forecast, have emerged. While designing a part, besides of a material and technology, the main emphasis is placed on manufacturing processes, i.e. a workpiece machining, its handling and transportation, as well as on a quality control, a storage, an assembly, and so on. In order to take into account a part (a worpiece) processing conditions such as a manufacturing cycle time. a delivery time, a batch size a production routing, a control policy, and the dispatching rules. the friendly decision supporting tools are required. In this study we focus on possible implementations of a virtual reality (i.e. a virtual manufacturing) technology. The virtual reality that can be treated as a direct consequence of the CAD/CAM or CAD/CAM/CAE/CIM systems development provides a powerful methodology allowing evaluating a design from its possible processes flow organization point of view. We emphasize, in particular, the possibility of a multi-objective evaluation of the manufacturing processes organization including a layout design as well as the robots and AGVs programming. It has been shown that the approach presented seems to be promising for a rapid prototyping of virtual enterprises following constraints of a given virtual design.
