Artykuł opisuje projekt budowy oraz funkcjonalność Modułowego Integratora do zarządzania systemem C4I żołnierza. W artykule zwrócono szczególną uwagę na budowę tego urządzenia oraz zbiór funkcji jakie urządzenie to realizuje w podsystemie C4I. Innowacyjny pomysł polegający na integracji w pojedynczej obudowie trzech różnych urządzeń, tj.: radiostacji osobistej, przenośnego komputera osobistego oraz systemu zasilania, realizowany na IX poziomie gotowości technologii, pozwolił określić Modułowy Integrator mianem urządzenia o „funkcjonalnej wielopostaciowości”. Kluczowym aspektem realizacji projektu było również dostosowanie urządzenia do cech psychofizycznych przyszłych użytkowników. Powyższe dostosowanie zostało zrealizowane poprzez ocenę Modułowego Integratora w aspektach ergonomii, estetyki technicznej, antropometrii i personalizacji, interakcji z użytkownikiem, siły nacisku, komfortu termicznego oraz lateralizacji. Opracowane, przebadane oraz przetestowane rozwiązanie „3in1” nie ma swojego odpowiednika na rynku krajowym jak i na rynkach zagranicznych.

This article describes the design and functionality of Modular Integrator to manage the C4I soldier system. A special attention has been drawn to the construction of this device and a set of functions that it performs in the C4I subsystem. This innovative idea which includes integration of three different devices (namely: an personal soldier radio, a personal digital assistant (PDA) and a power supply) into one single housing lets to determine the Modular Integrator as a “functional multiformity” device. The key aspect of realization of this project was also to adapt the device to the psychophysical futures of future users. Such adaption was carried out by assessing the Modular Integrator in the aspects of ergonomics, technical aesthetics, anthropometry and personalization, interaction with a user force, thermal comfort and lateralization. This developed and tested solution of “3in1” device has no equivalent neither on the domestic nor any foreign market.

Increasing demands on an extensive amount of digital data and information flows for C4I is forcing the modern armies to freeze and omit EUROCOM based tactical area communications system and to develop new concepts based on the adoption of modern communication systems such as ISDN, ATM described in the TACOMS Post 2000 Final Report II in NATO. ASELSAN, as a leading company in the military electronics arena, is following and participating all the activities of TACOMS Post 2000 together with Turkish Ministry of Defense. Turkey's tactical area communications system TASMUS is a mature and fielded system, which will satisfy future communication needs of the 21st century C4I systems. In this paper, we describe the basic features and user services of TASMUS. With the support of simultaneous voice and data capabilities, TASMUS aims to form mobile, survivable, flexible and secure network to support all the present and future communication requirements of the tactical commanders. Using the near real time data communications feature, TASMUS is also significant for the network-centric warfare applications such as tactical sensor and weapon systems, besides the communication needs of the Turkish Army.
