The goal of this article is to briefly present Arena Simulation Software as an example of Discrete Event Simulator used for modelling queuing systems. It contains example Case Study and the key factors that may be vital when making a purchasing and implementation decision of the Simulation Software.

Celem artykułu jest prezentacja oprogramowania Arena Simulation Software jako przykład symulatora zdarzeń dyskretnych systemów modelowania wykorzystywanych do kolejkowania. Artykuł zawiera przykładowy case study oraz kluczowe czynniki, które mogą mieć istotne znaczenie przy dokonywaniu zakupów i realizacji decyzji.

W artykule opisano pewne problemy związane z budowaniem poprawnych modeli symulacyjnych w programie Arena. Uwagę poświęcono modelowaniu systemów transportowych zbudowanych z taśmociągów. Jako modelowany system przyjęto pojedynczy prosty taśmociąg. Dla tak zdefiniowanego systemu transportowego zbudowano kolejno trzy modele symulacyjne. W każdym kolejnym modelu eliminowano pewne błędy. W ten sposób, na przykładzie trzeciego modelu, przestawiono prawidłową metodykę budowania modeli taśmociągów.

This paper describes some problems associated with building the correct simulation models in Arena. Attention is given to modeling transportation systems built with belt conveyors. One simple belt conveyor is an example of modeled system. For such transportation system three simulation models was built successively. In each successive model some errors was eliminated. In this way, based on the third model, the correct method of modeling belt conveyors was presented.This paper describes some problems associated with building the correct simulation models in Arena.
