W artykule dokonano porównania szeregu parametrów pracy kopalń odkrywkowych węgla brunatnego w Polsce. Podano podstawowe parametry pracy kopalń, a w tym: wydobycie węgla i zdejmowanie nadkładu, wskaźnik N:W, ilość wypompowanej wody i wskaźnik zawodnienia. Dokonano również analizy i porównania wydajności, czasu trwania awarii, energochłonności urabiania i struktury wiekowej koparek wielonaczyniowych. Podsumowując analizę dokonano porównań krajowych i niemieckich wybranych parametrów pracy układów KTZ.

The article compares a number of parameters of open pit lignite mines in Poland. Lists the basic parameters of the mines, including: coal mining and overburden removal, the rate of overburden to coal, the amount of pumped out water and the water to coal indicator. Efficiency, downtime duration, energy intensity and age structure of bucket wheel excavators were also examined and compared. To sum up the analysis, comparisons of chosen operating parameters of selected domestic and German BCS systems were made.

Kopalnia Węgla Brunatnego "Adamów " S.A. prowadzi eksploatację górniczą złoża " Koźmin " metodą odkrywkową. Pierwszy poziom górniczy o wysokości około 20 m jest w zdecydowanej większości zbudowany z osadów piaszczysto-żwirowych pochodzenia rzecznego. Są to potencjalne zasoby kruszyw budowlanych. W artykule przedstawiono warunki hydrograficzne zalegania pierwszej warstwy piaszczystej w nadkładzie złoża. Wskazano na korzystne uwarunkowania hydrogeologiczne, to jest całkowite odwodnienie warstwy przez system studzienny odkrywki. Sprzyjające są również warunki górnicze. Otwarte pozostaje pytanie, czy można urobek z pierwszego poziomu górniczego wykorzystać do celów budowlanych.

"Adamów" S.A. Brown Coal Mine conducts opencast exploitation of "Koźmin " deposit. The first exploitation stage, about 20 m of height, consists offluvial sand and gravel sediments. These are potential reserves of aggregate useful for construction industry. Plydrographical conditions of deposit overburden first sand layer have been presented in the paper. Favorable hydro-geological conditions, i.e. complete drainage of the layer by the system of drainage wells have been discussed. The question is whether the output from the first exploitation stage can be useful for construction purposes.

The ”Adamów–Smulsko” exposure is situated in the eastern part of Wielkopolska about 5 km to the east from Turek. Three till horizons are exposed there. The oldest one is considered to be the deposits of South Polish Glaciation age (Elsterian), the middle one of Odranian age and the upper one — divided in two strata — of Warthanian age (Klatkowa, 1993). Indicator erratics in samples taken in two profiles, lying two kilometres apart, were analysed. The relationship between fundamental indicator erratics has been determined and the comparison with the contribution of particular alimentation areas in the supply of coarse material has been made, also the theoretical home centres of the boulder associations (TGZ) here been marked. The stratigraphical conclusions do not confirm the previous interpretation. The occurrence of Odranian tills has not been supported. The lowest till horizon has been attributed to Nida Glaciation, whereas the middle and upper ones to the Warthanian Glaciation.
