Struktura i właściwości mechaniczne siluminów są w dużym stopniu zależne od szybkości chłodzenia, składu oraz operacji modyfikacji i obróbki cieplnej. W artykule opisano badania doświadczalne dotyczące zastosowania metody ATND (analiza termiczno-napięciowo- różnicowa) oraz analizy regresji do oceny jakości stopu AlSi12Cu2(Fe) modyfikowanego strontem na etapie jego przygotowania. Uzyskane zależności pomiędzy wartościami temperatury i napięcia w punktach charakterystycznych krzywych metody ATND umożliwiają predykcję właściwości mechanicznych (Rsp0,02, Rm, A5) badanego stopu. Pozwala to już na etapie przygotowania stopu ocenić jego właściwości mechaniczne bez konieczności prowadzenia pracochłonnych badań i wprowadzić ewentualne działania korygujące, mające na celu poprawę jego właściwości.

Structure and mechanical properties of silumins are highly dependent on cooling rate, composition and operations of modification and heat treatment. The present article describes experimental research concerning use of the ATND method (thermal-voltage-derivative analysis) and regression analysis to assessment of quality of AlSi12Cu2(Fe) alloy modified with strontium at the stage of its preparation. Obtained relationships between values of temperature and voltage in characteristic points on curves from ATND method enable prediction of mechanical properties (R0,02, Rm, A5) of the investigated alloy. This allows, as early as in preparation stage of the alloy, to evaluate its mechanical properties without need of labour consuming tests, and to introduce possible corrective measures aimed at improvement of its properties.

Majority of combustion engines is produced (poured) from Al-Si alloys with low thermal expansion coefficient, so called piston silumins. Hypereutectic alloys normally contain coarse, primary angular Si particles together with eutectic Si phase. The structure and mechanical properties of these alloys are highly dependent upon cooling rate, composition, modification and heat-treatment operations. In the paper one depicts use of the ATND method (thermal-voltage-derivative analysis) and regression analysis to assessment of quality of the AlSi21CuNi alloy modified with Cu-P on stage of its preparation, in aspect of obtained mechanical properties (R0,02, Rm, A5, HB). Obtained dependencies enable prediction of mechanical properties of the investigated alloy in laboratory conditions, using values of characteristic points from curves of the ATND method.

In the paper is presented an attempt of assessment of melting and modification effect on Rm tensile strength of Al-Si alloys poured into metallic moulds. Investigated alloys underwent refining and modification with AlSr10 master alloy. Run of the crystallization process was presented with the help of solidification curves, making use of thermal-voltage-derivative analysis (ATND). Obtained results comprise registered curves of solidification, strength tests, microstructure of the alloy and regression analysis. On base of performed regression analysis one obtained a dependencies enabling evaluation of Rm tensile strength of Al-Si alloys as early as on stage of their preparation (melting).

W pracy przedstawiono próbę oceny wpływu warunków procesu topienia i modyfikacji na wytrzymałość na rozciąganie Rm stopów Al-Si odlewanych do form metalowych. Stopy Al-Si poddano rafinacji i modyfikacji zaprawą AlSr10. Przebieg procesu krystalizacji charakteryzowano za pomocą krzywych krystalizacji. Stosowano metodę analizy termiczno-napięciowo-derywacyjnej (ATND). Wykonano próbę statyczną rozciągania oraz badania mikroskopowe wytworzonych stopów Al-Si. Analiza regresji stanowiła podstawę do uzyskania zależności pozwalającej określić prognozowaną wytrzymałość na rozciąganie Rm stopów Al-Si w procesie topienia i krystalizacji.

Aluminum alloys with magnesium are commonly used in foundry industry due to lower density and higher corrosion resistance, comparing with silumins. Complicated shapes of produced alloys, differences in wall thickness and operation under changing loads require performing quality control as early as in stage of their preparation (melting). To register crystallization processes and monitor a phenomena arisen in result of the crystallization, are implemented methods based on analysis of temperature change (ATD, DTA). In the paper is present an attempt of usage of the ATND method (Thermal-Voltage-Derivative Analysis) to registration of crystallization process of the investigated alloy. Obtained results concern registration of the crystallization process, strength and fatigue tests of the material, and visual observation of morphology of alloy's fracture after static tensile test. Performed regression analysis has enabled implementation of changeable values of characteristic points of the ATND method to estimation of mechanical properties of the AlMg10 alloy with SbNiCr additive.

Among lightweight metal alloys, magnesium is the lightest structural material with density of 1.74 g/cm3, having many attractive physical and mechanical properties combined with processing advantages. Therefore, it represents very attractive material for large amount of applications starting from automotive industry as the main user, up to other industry fields like sports, robotic electronics, armaments, and textile ones, or production of audio-video equipment. Furthermore, addition of lithium, that has density of 0,53 g/cm3, reduces density of the resulting Mg-Li alloys to the same level as polymeric materials. On metallic matrix of magnesium alloys with lithium are also manufactured composites reinforced with e.g. ceramic fiber, which are used as a lightweight and resistant structure materials. Therefore, Mg-Li alloys become an alternative material assuring low density, improved ductility and corrosion resistance. The paper presents an attempt of implementation of the ATND method to monitoring of crystallization process of MCMgLi8Ca5 alloys. Investigated magnesium alloys were produced in the Foundry Research Institute. Registration of melting and crystallization processes was made with use of the ATND method. Results of the preliminary tests are shown in a graphical form.

The paper presents the results of research relating to the registration of crystallization process of lightweight magnesium alloys based of ATND method. Investigated magnesium alloys containing about 8 % Li have been produced in the Foundry Research Institute. Melting and crystallization curves for two selected alloys (MgLi8Al4 and MgLi8Ca5) are included in graphical form. Moreover, microstructures for the investigated alloys poured into metallic mould are presented.

W artykule przedstawiono badania procesu krystalizacji stopów magnezu metodą Analizy Termiczno-Napięciowo-Derywacyjnej (ATND). Stosowano stopy magnezu o zawartości Li ok. 8% oraz Al 4% lub MGLi8Al4 i MgLi8Ca5 odlewanych do formy metalowej.

Crystallization processes of alloys determine structure of castings and the same their utility properties. Knowledge about run of the processes is a source of information for development of technology to preparation of liquid metal and to control of preparation of the alloys within in industry. Hence, making use of crystallization processes theory to control of the technological processes aimed at obtaining the best possible structure of the material for a given requirements becomes important factor in production of castings. The paper discusses an impact of the modification process and heat treatment on mechanical properties of AK132 (AlSi12Cu2Fe) alloy. Investigated alloy was melted in electric resistance furnace. Run of the crystallization process has been presented with use of thermal-voltage-derivative analysis (ATND). That method was also implemented to determination of temperature range of heat treatment operations of the alloy. Obtained results concern registered solidification curves from the ATND method, luminous microscopy, strength tests and observation of fracture�fs surfaces of the tested alloy after static tensile test. For approximately eutectic AK132 silumin there were obtained advantageous changes of mechanical properties of the alloy caused mainly by refining of [alpha]+Si eutectic mixture, present in not-modified alloy in lamellar form. The changes are also reflected in course of the crystallization process and morphology of fracture surface after static tensile test. Performed heat treatment of AK132 silumin, consisting on hyper quenching and ageing has enabled to obtain positive result connected with additional implementation of ATND method, which registers melting (heating) processes of the alloy, to determination of heat treatment temperatures. On base of performed tests of heat-treated alloy one has specified the range of parameters, which determine obtaining the best possible mechanical properties. The research was performed in laboratory conditions, and therefore requires verification in industry conditions.

Knowledge about run of crystallization process of alloys constitutes a source of information on development of a new technology to prepare liquid metal and to control of preparation process of alloys within industry. Complicated shapes and big differences in wall thickness of castings made from Al-Mg alloy and their behavior under changing loads require elaboration and implementation of a methods enabling determination of mechanical properties of the alloys on preparation stage before casting process. The paper presents application of simultaneous ATND method (thermal-voltage derivative analysis) in determination of mechanical properties of AG10 alloy. Investigated alloy was melted in electric resistance furnace, and next, one has performed registration of crystallization with use of ATND method and regression analysis aimed at elaboration of equations to determine mechanical properties of the investigated alloy. Obtained mathematical dependencies enable prompt check of the mechanical properties of the alloy as early as in stage of its preparation. The research performed in laboratory conditions needs verification in industry conditions with targeted production of automated control stand.

W artykule przedstawiono przykład zastosowania nowej metody ATND do badań krystalizacji stopów metali nieżelaznych. Badania prowadzone były na odlewniczym stopie aluminium AlSi20CuNi.

New ATND technique used to evaluate the phase composition in AlSi20CuNi alloy was presented. The characteristic points were obtained from solidification curves and from milivoltage curves as well as from their derivatives of solidification and crystallization curves with ATND method.

W artykule przedstawiono próbę zastosowania jednoczesnej metody Analizy Termiczno-Napięciowo Derywacyjnej do określenia własności mechanicznych siluminu AK20 (Rm). Badany stop został poddany typowym zabiegom rafinacji i modyfikacji. Następnie została przeprowadzona analiza regresji w celu uzyskania równania do określania wytrzymałości na rozciąganie Rm.

The evaluation test of mechanical properties of the AK20 have been described in this paper. The characteristics points obtained from the solidification curves and from the voltage curves, as well from their derivatives have been determined on the state of the solidification and crystallization curves using the method simultaneous recording ATND.
