W artykule przedstawiono projekty realizowane w obszarze transformacji energetycznej na Wydziale Wiertnictwa, Nafty i Gazu AGH w Krakowie. Związane są m.in. z magazynowaniem energii, nowymi materiałami do budowy rurociągów, składowaniem CO2, czy też nowymi technologami wiertniczymi.

The article presents projects in the field of energy transformation at the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of AGH University of Science and Technology. They are connected with energy storage, new materials for pipeline construction, CO2 storage or new drilling technologies.

W 2019 roku Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza w Krakowie świętowała setną rocznicę swojej działalności. Utworzona została w 1919 roku jako Akademia Górnicza. Aby sprostać gwałtownemu rozwojowi techniki, przemysł wydobywczy musiał być wspierany przez nowe, rozwijające się intensywnie nauki, a taką była wówczas elektrotechnika. Pierwsza Katedra Elektrotechniki powstała na Wydziale Górniczym w 1920 roku. Kierowanie tą katedrą w latach 1920-1946 powierzono nowo mianowanemu profesorowi Janowi Studniarskiemu. W 1946 roku powołany został Wydział Elektromechaniczny, w którego programach kształcenia znalazło się już bardzo dużo zagadnień z szeroko pojętego obszaru nauk elektrycznych. Jednak samodzielny wydział „elektryczny” utworzony zostaje dopiero w 1952 roku po podziale wydziału Elektromechanicznego, jako Wydział Elektryfikacji Górnictwa i Hutnictwa. Jego bezpośrednim spadkobiercą jest działający aktualnie Wydział Elektrotechniki, Automatyki, Informatyki i Inżynierii Biomedycznej.

In 2019, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow celebrated its 100th anniversary. This University was established in 1919 as the Mining Academy. To cope with the rapid development of technology, the mining industry had to be supported by new, intensively developing sciences, which was then electrical engineering. The first Department of Electrical Engineering was established at the Mining Faculty in 1920. The chairmanship of this Department in 1920-1946 was entrusted to the newly appointed professor Jan Studniarski. In 1946, the Electromechanical faculty was established, whose educational programs already included a lot of issues from the broadly understood field of electrical sciences. However, an independent "electrical" faculty was created only in 1952 after the division of the Electromechanical faculty, as the Faculty of Mining and Metallurgy Electrification. His direct successor is the current faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering.

The new understanding of geotourism includes not only the visits to abiotic nature objects but their broad cognition, from geological structure and history, through landforms development, environmental problems, nature protection, impact on economic growth of the region up to historical and cultural contexts. The aim of such broad attempt is to better understand the relationships between geological structure, landforms, land development, history, economics and culture (including the aesthetic impressions of visitors) of a geosite and region in which it is located. Such hollistic attempt generates the demand for a new type of specialist. His education should integrate the knowledge of the Earth and environmental sciences, tourism industry theory and practice, basics of economy, finances, law, history and cultural heritage of the region together with the abilities of interpersonal communication and transfer of knowledge in a way understandable for non-professionals. The authors present the history and recent practice of geotourism education at the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environment Protection of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.
