The paper contains proposals of improvement concerning implementation of the 5S method. For that purpose there were used some selected techniques of manufacturing management: team work as well as the cause and effect Ishikawa diagram. The analysis of a pilot implementation was done in one of companies located in south–east Poland by a team which consisted of workers involved in that implementation and external experts. The results of analysis were used for the improvement of approach to implementation of the 5S method in the company. Presented methodology as well as obtained results can assist in implementation of the method in other companies.

The article presents the main aspects which require attention when optimizing and improving the manufacturing process, i.e.: the human resources aspect, the technical aspect and the organizational aspect. Concepts such as the Total Quality Management, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing claim that work improvement should be a continuous process. The foundation for implementing the improvement of processes, regardless of the concept, are well-organized and orderly workplaces as well as standardization, which can be achieved thanks to the Japanese 5S method.

A continuous technological progress forces an improvement of the production process. The article describes the sole beginning of changes in the process of tires retreading on the 5S management method with regard to health and safety standards. The authors point out that the process of the production of retreaded tires is associated with the relationship between a man and a machine. The process improvement can dispense only by improving the machines but it should also pay attention to the man. The improvement of the production process must precede the audit, which can show areas that require intervention. Any such change in the production process cannot be performed without the participation of health and safety inspector, because his knowledge, skills and competence are able to determine whether the proposed changes interfere with the level of safety at the workplace. The authors emphasize that the process of production improvement production should be compatible with the process of improving the health and safety of workers involved in the production process. The combination of 5S audit with health and safety standards results in a holistic approach to the improvement process.

W publikacji przedstawiono metodę Lean Management jako nowoczesną koncepcję, której celem jest dostosowanie przedsiębiorstwa do rynkowych warunków zarządzania poprzez uproszczenie wszystkich procesów i przepływów tak, aby uniknąć błędów i marnotrawstwa. W artykule przedstawiono genezę, rozwój i główne narzędzia, którymi posługuje się omawiana koncepcja oraz ich wpływ na wyniki ekonomiczne przedsiębiorstwa. Szczególną uwagę autor zwrócił na filozofię Kaizen oraz jej zastosowanie i wykorzystanie w przedsiębiorstwach regionu legnickiego.

The main objective of that report is presented the Lean Management`s method. Lean Managemet is very popular method which adjust the company to demanding market conditions. There were described the origin, progression and main instruments of lean management. There was also presented the influence of lean management on the firm`s economy. In the last part of that article there was described the Kaizen philosophy and its use in the companies of Legnica region.

The paper presents a lean management approach to the production system organisation. The scope of the presented work includes problems considered with both production engineering and workflow management in the context of non-time added task. Themain applied tools is the 5S method of work scene ordering and visual control of manufactured parts. The utilisation of proposed approach is described basing on the example of the production of industrial boilers in conditions of a piece production. The application of 5S method allows shortening by 3 day the production cycle. It was considered with the workplace ordering and decreasing the auxiliary times. While the introduction of a visual control let to improve the operation of failure detection and instructing employees. Typically this operation occupied 2 days and has been shorten of 25% and 1,5 day for directing employees work instructions . It is also recommended to introduce to the production practice the utilisation of formalized approach basing on written documents.

W niniejszym artykule zaproponowano praktyczne wykorzystanie metod, technik i narzędzi projakościowych do doskonalenia bezpieczeństwa pracy na stanowisku operatora wózka widłowego. Głównym celem opracowania jest zaproponowanie rozwiązań dotyczących organizacji pracy zwiększających wydajność oraz bezpieczeństwo pracy na stanowisku. Danymi do analizy były wyniki oceny ryzyka zawodowego na stanowisku operatora wózka widłowego. Pozwoliło to na skupienie się. na czynnikach, które miały największy wpływ na bezpieczeństwo na stanowisku pracy. W celu wyeliminowania najbardziej niebezpiecznych czynników, zaproponowano wdrożenie metody 5S, narzędzia takiego jak listy kontrolne, oraz technik - OPL, SOP oraz SMAT. Zaprezentowano praktyczne wykorzystanie tych metod wraz z ich wizualizacją. Ponadto zaprezentowano wpływ proponowanych działań na istniejące warunki.

In the following paper practical application of pro quality methods, techniques and tools was suggested for improvement of safety of work of a forklift operator. The main goal was identification of solutions referring to work organization striving for increased efficiency and safety of work at the workstation analyzed. The data used in the analysis comprised of assessment of professional risk for a forklift operator, which enabled focusing on the factors having the greatest influence on safety at the workstation analyzed. To eliminate the factors generating the greatest danger and risk the following methods, tools and techniques were suggested: 5S, checklists, OPL, SOP and SMAT. Practical application of the methods above listed was presented, as well as their visualisation. Moreover, influence of the predefined actions on present conditions was introduced as well.

Wprowadzanie innowacji organizacyjnych jest istotnym działaniem wpływającym na efektywność funkcjonowania organizacji. W niniejszej publikacji zaprezentowano jedną z metod lean management – metodę mapowania strumienia wartości. Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu przedstawiono najważniejsze założenia metody. Na przykładzie przykładowej firmy przemysłowej przedstawiono przykład zastosowania tejże metody w zakresie wprowadzania innowacji organizacyjnych. W artykule przedstawiono mapę stanu obecnego i mapę stanu przyszłego koncentrując się na efektach zastosowania metody.

Organizational innovation is an important activity affecting the productivity of the organization. This paper presents a method of lean management – the method of value stream mapping. On the basis of the literature we shows the main features of the method. For example, a sample of industrial companies is an example of applying this method in the field of organizational innovation. This paper presents the current state map and a map of the future by focusing on the effects of the method.

The aim of the study was to identify the problems and improve the production of cement in a ball mill in terms of technology and management associated with the use of known methods and techniques to improve quality. A detailed analysis helped to explain the process which affects the efficiency of grinding cement and which is the most common cause of disturbance and incompatibilities in the process of milling, how the production process is managed and controlled in order to obtain the required grain size, which is the main parameter influencing the quality of the manufactured product. To manage the change of the process there has been used a value stream map for analysis of the intermediate process of cement production, transport to the silos, bagging and selling. Based on the research some proposals of the process improvement have been designed that might have a chance of implementation and execution.

Zaprezentowane w opracowaniu wyniki badań pokazują przykłady korzyści oraz możliwości pojawiające się w związku z wdrożeniem systemu produkcji odchudzonej.

The article introduces definition and purpose of implementation of Lean Production. Author presents methodology of implementation of 5S tool as a first step to create value, modern and effective production process. Later development of 5S theory to 6S is brought. A research work result shows practical examples of benefits and possibilities appearing during implementation of Lean Production system.

W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono istotę Lean Manufacturing (LM). LM, czyli odchudzona produkcja, to filozofia zarządzania polegająca na nieustannym eliminowaniu marnotrawstwa w przedsiębiorstwie, zdefiniowanego jako wszystkie czynności, inwestycje i procesy niedodające wartości do produktu lub usługi z punktu widzenia klienta. Zaprezentowano także wybrane narzędzia LM, których rozwój zmierza w kierunku szybszego i lepszego zaspokajania potrzeb klienta oraz do ciągłego doskonalenia zarządzania produkcją. Wdrażanie poszczególnych narzędzi LM przez przedsiębiorstwo hutnicze może przyczynić się do uzyskania trwałej przewagi konkurencyjnej.

This report presents Lean Manufacturing (LM). LM is the management philosophy based on continuous eliminating of a waste in a company. The waste means a work, investments and processes that do not add a value to products from the customer angle. The article presents the chosen tools ofLM. These tools are cos turners oriented and help to obtain permanent competitive advantage. The objective ofLM is to assist manufacturers who have a desire to improve their company 's operations and become more competitive through the implementation of different tools. These tools of Lean Manufacturing are used for distance a competitor.
