In present study a modified procedure for generation of the mandible finite element models representing the individual bone geometry, mechanical properties, and activity of the masticatory muscles in different occlusal contacts is presented. For proper reproduction of the mandible geometry and structural inhomogenity the CT data were used. The influence of the anisotropy and inhomogenity of the bone tissue on the stress and strain distribution was studied for different mandible zones. The obtained results were compared with literary data on earlier mathematical models and results of the experimental studies.
