Nośność wyboczeniowa żeber wzmacniających ścianę silosu stalowego może być określona metodą zalecaną w PN-EN 1993-4-1:2009/A1-2017-08E. Metoda ta wykorzystuje założenie, że żebra ścienne są prętami spoczywającymi na podłożu sprężystym, którego parametr jest zdefiniowany w tej normie. W prezentowanym krótkim komunikacie Autor wskazuje błędy, jakie się wkradły do wzorów definiujących sztywność zastępczą K ściany silosu. Wskazane błędy istotnie wpływają na nośność wyboczeniową ściany silosu i przekładają się na bezpieczeństwo jego użytkowania.

The buckling resistance of ribs reinforcing walls of steel silos can be assessed by method recommended in PN-EN 1993-4-1:2009/A1-2017-08E. The method is based on an assumption that ribs are columns supported on elastic foundation parameter of which is defined in this Eurocode. In presented short communication. Author indicates mistakes present in formulae defining equivalent stiffness K of the silo wall. The indicated errors significantly affect the buckling resistance of the silo wall and translate into the safety of its use.

These joints are used when the designer and contractor anticipate difficulties during the construction of overlap joints. They were not included in the PN EN 1993-1-8 in full scale. Resistance assessment of such joints is presented in accordance with standard rules. The results were compared with the experimental studies carried out at the “Mostostal” Centre; while the former research activities and the legitimacy of the proposed method of assessing the resistance of these joints was confirmed. This is an example of an overlap joint calculation.
