Artykuł przedstawia podstawowe pojęcia dotyczące świętości w judaizmie w aspekcie historycznych wydarzeń w okresie biblijnym. Z tego czasu wywodzą się współczesna religia, obchodzone święta, obrzędy oraz zwyczaje.

The article presents the basic concepts of holiness in Judaism in the aspect of historical events in the biblical period. Modern religion, celebrated holidays, rituals and customs originate from this time.

The article highlights the sacred component of architecture of theological-humanitarian Christian educational institutions. It researches the architectural and space-planning decisions of temples and chapels of theological-humanitarian educational institutions. The objective of the research is to determine the major principles of architecture development common for the sacred core of theological-humanitarian educational institutions. The research has been conducted by means of analyzing the historical experience of designing and constructing temples and chapels of theological educational institutions in Ukraine, carrying out field observations, systematizing the results of previous scientific researches, as well as analyzing the design decisions and the implemented projects. The methods of typological analysis, experimental design, and questionnaire-based survey have been applied in the course of the research. The results of the conducted research helped to outline the major principles of architecture development common for the sacred core of theological-humanitarian educational institutions, determine the major factors influencing the architecture of temples and chapels of similar institutions, and offer the suggestions for designing temples and chapels of theological-humanitarian educational institutions in Ukraine.

Współczesna relacja do sacrum jest efektem rozciągnięcia przenośnego rozumienia pojęcia świętość na poszerzoną sferę życia duchowego mieszkańców miast. Sacrum w przestrzeni wybudowanej może być umiejscowione tylko w obiektach i przestrzeniach religijnych, ale współczesne miejsca zbiorowej pamięci poświęcone czci czynów heroicznych i ofiar w imię dobra ogółu, czci ofiar zamachów terrorystycznych, wojen, prześladowań uznaje się za miejsca uświęcone. Elementem wspólnym jest obietnica nieśmiertelności, jaką dają religie i o jaką starają się społeczeństwa w miejscach świeckich, w których pamięć o ważnych dla nich wydarzeniach, związanych z cierpieniem, chcą wyrazić. Autorka stawia hipotezę, że być może z charakterystyczną dla współczesności konwersją obiektów sakralnych na obiekty świeckie wiąże się nowa formuła duchowości znajdująca również wyraz w uświęconych świeckich miejscach pamięci.

The contemporary attitude towards sacrum is a result of extending the understanding of the term sanctity over the expanded field of the spiritual life of the citizens of the cities. Sacrum In the built environment can be located in the religious spaces only, but the so called lieux de memoire are considered as the holy places also. The element which is common to the religious sanctity and secular holiness is the immortality - promised by religions and expected from the memorial spaces, often devoted to suffering. The author presents a hypothesis that the phenomenon of observed conversions of the religious buildings into the secular use can be related to the accelerated emerging of the secular spiritual places showing the new formula of the human spirituality.
