W artykule przeprowadzono analizę rejonu wentylacyjnego związanego ze ścianą eksploatacyjną jako podsystemu systemu wentylacyjnego kopalni. Podsieć wentylacyjna rejonu stanowi osnowę tego podsys- temu. W rejonie wentylacyjnym wydzielić można także rejon ściany, który stanowi ściana z przyległymi wyrobiskami technologicznymi i zrobami zawałowymi. Omówiono specyfikę podsieci wentylacyjnej rejonu ściany, którą można odwzorować specjalnymi grafami zastępczymi. Przepływy powietrza i gazów przez zroby zawałowe są odwzorowane w nicli w sposób rozmyty. Pozwalają dzięki temu na jakościową analizę kierunków przepływu powietrza i gazów przez zroby.

Although replaceable application of the terms "ventilation system" and "ventilation network" which are being used for underground mines (in the apects of mine ventilation science), these terms must be distinguished from each other. Ventilation system of a mine is a set of underground excavations and different devices connected by relations which allow to achieve the aim. The aim means to obtain specified state of the air (using the devices) in selected ventilation objects (blind ends, chambers). Whereas ventilation network is the matrix of a ventilation system, it allows to perform "system-creation" relations among the elements being the entrance and the exit of the system. Similarly to every system and network, ventilation systems and networks can be divided into subsystems and subnetworks as well. Ventilation regions are typical subsystems. Ventilation subnetworks of regions are the matrix for them. At least three criterions are being taken into consideration during construction of ventilation regions: structural, quantity of hazard and location of hazard. Considering ventilation regions connected with specified longwall it is possible to separate subsystem of lower grade. It is called "longwall region". It includes a longwall and adjacent technological excavations. Mining leads to goafs creation. The air (including gases) also partly flows across the goafs. The model of longwall region network can be represented by a graph. In this case the goafs are imaged as blocks instead of segments of a line. However, block graph can be transformed into substitute linear graph. Broadened network of a longwall are being created by assigning grade of assignation for indyvidual edges of a graph. They can be used for quality analysis of flow direction in goafs for the air and gases.

Na podstawie 5 letnich badań nad kształtowaniem się metanowości bezwzględnej wyrobiska ścianowego i rejonu wentylacyjnego ze ścianą wydobywczą, autor sprecyzował istotne przyczyny rozbieżności między metanowością prognozowaną a rzeczywistą. Potwierdził znane w literaturze wyniki badań, że wzrost zalegania pokładów węgla oraz duży postęp dobowy ścian powoduje: wzrost metanonośności naturalnej z przewagą metanu wolnego, zmniejszenie zasiegu pionowego odgazowania górotworu i pokładów węgla, wzrost decydującej roli metanu wydzielonego z eksploatowanego pokładu. Pracę zakończono wnioskami.

On the basis of 5-year investigations on formation of the absolute methane-bearing capacity of the longwall face and the ventilation area including the production longwall the author has stated precisely the essential reasons for discrepancies between the prognosticated and effective methane-bearing capacity levels. He has proved the investigation results, known from the literature, that a growth of deposition depth of the coal seams and a high daily advance rate of longwalls causes an increase of the natural methane-bearing capacity with a predominant free-methane content, a reduction of the vertical range of the system of drainage of gas from the strata and the coal seams proper, an increase of the decisive role of the methane emitted from the seam being extracted. The work ends with conclusions.
