Experiments were carried out in order to gain information about the composition of two museum objects - camel shawls from Archeology and Ethnographic Museum in Łódź. The optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to compare the scales structure on the wool fibres taken from the shawls and the scales taken from the present-day sheep's and camel's wool fibres. These experiments have shown that camels shawls can be made from camel's wool.
