The paper describes the analysis and control of dual stator winding induction motor. The motor consists of a stator with two separate three-phase windings shifted by 30 electrical degrees and a standard squirrel-cage rotor. The two types of mathematical models of dual stator motor are discussed. According to the first approach the machine is considered as the six-phase machine. This approach is based on using matrix transformation of phase variables obtained from vector space decomposition theory. According to the second approach the machine is considered as the machine with two separate three-phase stator windings. In this case the Park transformation of phase variables is applied. On the base of two obtained mathematical models of the motor for transformed phase variables the principles of vector control of the motor are developed. The control methods of dual stator winding induction motor based on FOC and DTC control are considered.
