In a person identification or verification, the prime interest is not in recognizing the words but determining who is speaking the words. In systems of person identification, a test of signal from an unknown speaker is compared to all known speaker signals in the set. The signal that has the maximum probability is identified as the unknown speaker. In security systems based on person identification and verification, faultless identification has huge meaning for safety. In systems of person verification, a test of signal from a known speaker is compared to recorded signals in the set, connected with a known tested persons label. There are more than one recorded signals for every user in the set. In aim of increasing safety, in this work it was proposed own approach to person verification, based on independent speech and facial asymmetry. Extraction of the audio features of person's speech is done using mechanism of cepstral speech analysis. The idea of improvement of effectiveness of face recognition technique was based on processing information regarding face asymmetry in the most informative parts of the face the eyes region.

This paper describes algorithm of exact iris shape determination in a face image with complex background. This work is a part of face recognition method. The aim was to locate circles circumscribed about an irises (radius and centers of such circles) in frontal face image. Presented algorithm combines known tasks of image processing and developed procedures. Achieved results are satisfactory for purpose of use in developed face recognition method.

Traditionally, in face authentication/identification methods the presumption concerning face/head symmetry is used. For novel applications that concern creating techniques by means of which it is possible to reproduce the extraordinary complexity of skin, muscle, eye and hair movements that convey emotion, gesture, psychological state or psycho-sociological traits, we begin to create new research direction called Biometrics of Asymmetrical Face. Apart from the direct study of new biometric technique type -the ophthalmogeometrical one - the new essential problem in this direction is the ability of interpretation of untapped "subtle" primary face information in psychological construct terms. The new direction study is based on modern knowledge of face authentic-ation/identification methods, the ophthalmogeometry, and functional brain asymmetry phenomena, knowledge of psychological testing of personal types. In the paper, it is presented a novel type of precise normalized model of a face called Czestochowa-face model, in the sense suiting the specification of the problem of mod-rn and prospect person's authentication/identification techniques creation in live biometrics. In addition the ophthalmogeometrical technique will be created and partially researched and attention has been also drawn to interdisciplinary research context. Beside the first-hand usage, the new technique may be employed in the areas of human-computer interaction, identification of cognition-psyche type of personality for personnel management, advanced education, and so on.

Przedstawiono wyniki opracowania teoretycznego i eksperymentalnego doświadczenia stworzonej przez autorów biometrycznej metody pomiarów asymetrii twarzy. Pomiar zrealizowano za pomocą pseudoinformacyjnego kryterium JeK oceny podobieństwa skomplikowanych kształtów.
