Nasicon Na3Zr2Si2PO12 samples were prepared by coprecipitation and solid-state reaction. Both methods lead to materials consisting of monoclinic Nasicon phases with small admixtures of ZrO2 or ZrSiO4. The differences of their behaviours and stabilities in long-term ageing tests in humid atmospheres are discussed in terms of their microstructures. Model equivalent circuits are proposed to explain observed phenomena.
