A non-linear mathematical model of superficial storage heater is presented. Using the control volume method the transient temperature distribution inside the heater, rate of energy transferred out of the heater and energy accumulated inside the magnesite and chamotte blocks are determined. An example of application of the developed model illustrating basic parameters of 1 kW heater during heating over 6 days is presented for magnesite and chamotte storage blocks.
