The paper below presents an analysis of the oil flow through the PONAR Wadowice UDZB overflow valve used in lubrication systems. Its aim is to present the phenomena occurring when changing the size of the gap in the valve. The paper contains information on the pressure drop – why does it happen and what its effects may be.
For more than ten years a dynamic and intensive development has been observed in spatial information technology combining elements of geoinformatics with data from various sources in order to create elaborate, often interdisciplinary and multifunctional compilations. The progressing implementation of IT solutions with reference to resources and related trends to make public information that is useful to a wide group of recipients are reflected in multimedia information materials of many public institutions and private businesses. An example of using electronic technologies in the presentation of spatial data of national parks is widely available geoportals, interactive maps and other cartographic or paracartographic visualizations offering various tools allowing the utilisation of spatial information resources. This publication aims at a multi-level analysis of the availability of network services, as defined in Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community, to all the existing geoportals of Polish national parks and a review of additional functions offered by the map services of all 23 Polish national parks that may be useful to users. As a result of research, tables and descriptions comparing the functions of the analysed geoportals were compiled and additional practical tools observed in other services were described. In addition, based on the comparisons, a concept of geoportal optimization was developed taking into account all categories of spatial information services and optional functions.
By analyzing the resources of the economic infrastructure (distilleries, diaries, fruit and vegetable processing and meat processing factories) of the Biała Podlaska County, the possibilities of the biomass obtaining and creating the biogas plants basing on the agri-food industry waste were estimated. The stocking of animals was the basis for the assessment of manure and slurry resources that can be subjected to the methane fermentation process. On the basis of the data concerning the surface of the wastelands, located on the Biała Podlaska County territory, the possibilities of the biomass from special crops were specified. In the Biała Podlaska County, it was established that there are possibilities for obtaining the biomass for the biogas production: from livestock production (1 475 272 GJ/year), maize cropping in marginal lands (172 875 GJ/year) and wastes and by-products from food industry (51 081 GJ/year). The estimated potential of biogas allows for the construction of several agricultural biogas plants with a capacity of 1 MWe each, often built in Poland. The usage of the identified resources enabling the improvement of the energetic safety and also can contribute to the sustainable development of rural areas and agriculture.
The work aimed to create and share for public use an Interactive Map of the Main Bus Station in Lublin, using the base map as a primary data source. This solution may be an alternative to the most popular way of basing on the Google Maps or OpenStreetMap data. The final visualization was prepared by connecting digital geospatial data processing methods with land surveying techniques. The map was designed as an information system for travellers and other people moving through the bus station facility. The intended ‘interactivity’ includes the ability to display proper information about selected objects and choosing preferred viewing parameters, such as the scale or the type of base layer. The final product is an Internet application, created and published using the ArcGIS Online service, in contrast with the majority of similar applications, which are typically developed using Google Maps tools.
