Reduced stress and fluctuation for the integrated α-Si TFT gate driver on the LCD

In this paper, an integrated TFT gate driver was designed on the glass substrate not only to decrease the fluctuation at the output, but also to reduce the stress effect on the pull-down branches. The fluctuation in the voltage at the output transistor was attributed to the coupled clocks through the parasitic capacitors in the TFTs. In this study, the voltage gating the pull-down braches was reduced for longer operational lifetime. This scheme was investigated by simulation by Smart-SPICE with an α-Si TFT model from Wintek Inc. at level 35.

Password authentication, which is widely used for authenticated method, also is important protocol by requiring a username and password before being allowed access to resources. In 2001, Lin et al. proposed the optimal strong-password authentication protocol, called (OSPA) which is a one-time password method by verifying with the different verifier every time for affirming its identity. However, Chen-Ku and Tsuji-Shimizu pointed respectively out that OSPA is vulnerable to the stolen-verifier attack and impersonation attack. In this paper, we shall propose the improved protocol secure against the known attacks to enhance the security

Embedding Invisible Watermarks into Digital Images Based on Side-Match Vector Quantization

This paper proposes an effective digital watermarking scheme to protect the intellectual property rights of digital images. This scheme embeds representative watermarks into images during the process of side-match vector quantization (SMVQ) compresses and extracts the digital watermark effectively in order to determine the ownership of the image when a dispute over intellectual property rights occurs. The method proposed in this paper embeds a watermark based on the grouping of the codewords in a state codebook, and it stresses the fact that the SMVQ compressed image and the decompressed image both contain watermarks. In addition, the decompressed image has strong resistance against being damaged. Even under JPEG lossy compression, the watermark can still be restored effectively. The proposed method enables the watermark to be embedded directly into a compressed image that is much smaller than the original one. Once applied to the network, the method can save time in image transmission as well as storage space.
