Liczne odlewnie stosują do produkcji rdzeni rezole alkaliczne typu Carbophen, wywołało to potrzebę przeprowadzenia badań nad wpływem tych żywic na właściwości masy wiązanej bentonitem. Badania obejmowały oddziaływanie nie tylko rdzeni nie przepalonych wiązanych żywicą Carbophen, lecz także przepalonej masy rdzeniowej zawierającej tę żywicę. W wyniku badań stwierdzono, ze niekorzystny wpływ masy rdzeniowej wiązanej żywicą Carbophen i utwardzonej C02 występuje, jeżeli jej dodatek do masy wiązanej bentonitem jest wyższy niż 10%. Szczególny wpływ na to oddziaływanie wywiera zawartość w masie rozpuszczonego potasu. Duża zasadowość masy rdzeniowej wiązanej żywicą Carbophen ma także znaczenie dla procesu regeneracji tej masy; dlatego tez kontrola zasadowości w miarę zwiększania się liczby cykli obiegowych masy odgrywa istotną rolę.

Because of using in numerous foundries the alcali resols of the Carbophen type the research on the influence of these resins on the properties of the moulding sand bound with bentonite was earned out The research comprised the influence of the addition of the not burnt-out cores as well as of the burnt-out core sand. In result of the research one could state that the unfavourable influence of the core sand bound with the resme of Carbophen type and hardened with C02 can only be observed when its addition to the moulding sand bound with bentonite exceeds 10 %. A special effect on this influence has the potassium content in the sand. A great basicity of the core sand bound with the resine of Carbophen type is important also for the reclamation process of this sand; that is why the controle of the basicity of the sand with the increase of the amount of the circulation cycles plays an essential role.
