In this article, for the first time, research of the defective frog wing of the 1/11 mark on the Latvian Railway has been carried out. In the process of which was collected, processed and the analysis of points defects on the Latvian Railway was carried out for eight compartments of the track distance during 2014, 2015 and 2016 (Developed a chief of defectoscopy shop V. Glotov, approved CD the chief of the distance V. Makedon). The frog wing of the 1/11 mark (the 60 E1 DO 04 07 frog type) was considered according to the basic classification of the defects, and an analysis and research of the cause of its fracture were carried out.
The practice has show that restoration of the surface of railway turnout elements by a build-up welding very often is unsuccessful due to subsequent origination of areas of premature destructions such as shivers, stratification, spalling, a.o. Experimental study revealed that causes of the defects are due to welding technology violations and ineffective turnout element existing defect diagnosis methods applied.

Passing from the line of one system to the area other is accomplished in strictly certain clamp points on connecting ways; - improvement of terms of transplantation between the kinds of transport with the concordance of time-tables, by creation of the single stations - lining-out knots, will allow to reduce loading on knots and shorten moving of passengers, both at times and is, in "corks", in the clock of lances; For the decision of this task an algorithm which determines minimum time on the way between tops in simple with non-negative scales is examined. We present equations to describe in analytical form a dynamics of a freight carriages group on a sorting hill. The purpose is to determine analytically the amplitudes of oscillations, induced by a braking process on a moderatorcoolant. The groups of carriages needed to be braked may consist of four, six and ten carriages. The theoretically varied parameters are the longitudinal speed of the group and a period of brake apply, as well as types of the freight carriages. The results allow to choose the regime of safe braking in order to avoid the derailment.
On the Latvian railway, derailments of freight cars take place in the course of shunting work on marshalling yards. A number of factors during shunting work on marshalling yards may contribute to the derailments of rolling stock: longitudinal dynamics during braking of cars with the turned off brakes by locomotive, hauling down cars from a marshalling hill with braking position controlled by an operator, dry internal rails in curves, absence of greasing in the pivot unit of freight bogies. At present, measures allowing elimination of the car derailments during shunting work are developed. During the period between repairs, the abutment unit of freight car often works in conditions of dry friction. Our observations suggest that at the time of taking a car into repair, there is often an absence of greasing between trail bearing and center plate of the abutment, and a presence of sandy dust. It increases a friction and, together with high contact pressures and dynamic influence, hinders the turn of bogie at motion of car. In this paper, the results of studying the resisting moment in the abutment to turning of bogie is reported. The study was conducted on the basis of freight bogie of type 18-100; the body was leant on the center plate unit of the abutment, on the center plate unit, and on the sliders. Experiments were conducted, with the use of greasing and at the dry friction of center plate unit.
On the Latvian railway the last years there has been an increase of number of derailment of freight carriages. For the determination of reasons, resulting in the derailment of freight carriages, an analysis of derailments was carried for the last 10 years.
