In recent years lean thinking (also referred as slim) increases its popularity not only in industry, but also in the entire business world. There are many confirmed effects demonstrating the high effectiveness of this philosophy: a clear improvement of economic indicators, an increase in current satisfaction and the acquisition of new clients; better, stable quality of offered products and services; efficient organization of production; more effective management; high productivity of work and production; minimizing the costs of production and storage of stocks. Why is Lean implementation in our domestic conditions not easy and sometimes ineffective? In this study we will try to answer these very important questions.

Nowadays, the environmental aspects of transport are very actual issues, mainly the energy consumption and GHG production. The priority of EU transport strategy is to decrease the negative environmental impacts of all transport modes. The article discusses the calculation of the energy consumption and production of greenhouse gases in transport from both the primary and secondary points of view. This means, that it reflects the implications on the environment not only while operating the vehicle, but also during production, refining, distribution and storage of the fuel used in transport. The calculation is done by using the methodology of the standard EN 16 258:2012. This standard is used on all cars using various types of propellants. The results of the calculation show in a non-discriminatory manner the energy effectiveness of the individual types of fuel, as well as the rate of their production of greenhouse gases expressed in a comparison unit of equivalent CO2e.

Not only electrical hybrid technology is used for drivetrain of passenger cars. Also other systems using non-electrical principles (hydraulic or air pressure, mechanical energy storage) can be found in modern vehicles. There is a quantification of the spared energy by using a hybrid vehicle in the paper. Driving cycle ECE 15 was chosen as a platform for simulation of driving resistances.

This paper is focused on the comprehensive analysis of the railway noise issues. It deals with the influence of noise on the environment and presents the options how the noise from the railway transport might be reduced by noise barriers. In conclusion, the theoretical part is complemented by a practical one in the form of measuring and subsequent analysis.

The article justifies the application of gas fuels for supplying auxiliary ship boilers. It presents legal regulations on maritime environmental protection areas and their requirements which are in power. It shows the chronology of introduced limitations on sulphur and nitrogen dioxide emissions and thresholds of carbon dioxide emission reduction expressed by EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Indicator) and EEOI (Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator). Ways to decrease the values of EEDI and EEOI in the ship energy effectiveness management have been shown. Consequences of replacing marine fuels with LNG for running auxiliary ship boilers have been considered thoroughly, taking into account ecological, construction- al, operational, procedural and logistic limitations as well as economic consequences. The summary shows the influence of particular consequences of using LNG for running boilers on the methods of maintenance of auxiliary boilers.

W artykule uzasadniono zastosowanie paliw gazowych do zasilania pomocniczych opalanych kotłów okrętowych. Przedstawiono obowiązujące akty prawne w zakresie stref ochrony środowiska morskiego i zdefiniowano ich wymagania. Pokazano chronologię wprowadzania ograniczeń emisji tlenków siarki, azotu oraz progi redukcji emisji dwutlenku węgla wyrażonej wartością projektowego wskaźnika efektywności energtycznej statku (ang. energy efficency design index-eedi) oraz wskaźnikiem eksploatacyjnej efektywności energetycznej statku (ang. energy efficiency operational indicator – EEOI). Pokazano sposoby zmniejszania wartości EEDI oraz EEOI w zarządzaniu efektywnością energetyczną statku. Szczegółowo rozważono konsekwencje zastąpienia paliw żeglugowych skroplonym gazem ziemnym (lng) do zasilania opalanych kotłów okrętowych: konsekwencje ekologiczne, konstrukcyjne, eksploatacyjne, proceduralne oraz ograniczenia logistyczne i konsekwencje ekonomiczne. W podsumowaniu wskazano wpływ poszczególnych konsekwencji wprowadzenia LNG do zasilania kotłów na metody utrzymania opalanych kotłów pomocniczych.

Electric or hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly common on roads. While electric vehicles are still more or less intended for city traffic, hybrid vehicles allow normal use due to wider driving range. The use of internal combustion engines in hybrid drives is still an inspiration to find the way to reduce the production of emissions. Numbers of alternative energy resources were studied as a substitution of conventional fuels for hybrid vehicles drives worldwide. The paper deals with the possibility of using alternative fuels as CNG, LPG and LNG in combination with hybrid drive of a midibus with the capacity of 20 passengers. Various aspects and techniques of hybrid vehicles from energy management system, propulsion system and using of various alternative fuels are explored in this paper. Other related fields of hybrid vehicles such as changes of vehicle weight or influence of electric energy sources on the total vehicle emission production are also included.

This paper discusses a proposal of methodology of revitalisation of regional railway tracks and regional railway traffic, liberalization and competition in railway transport, quality requirements in regional traffic, principles of the contract on transport services in the public interest and with the current state of regional passenger transport in Slovakia and Serbia. This is Part 2 which is dedicated to study the current situation of regional railway transport in Slovakia and Serbia, the investment plans, the potential changes on the railway transport market and the quality of transport service provided in these countries.

Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Vorschlag der Methodik der Wiederbelebung der regionalen Eisenbahnlinien und regionalen Bahnverkehr, Liberalisierung und Wettbewerb im Eisenbahnverkehr, Qualitätsanforderungen im Regionalverkehr, Grundsätze des Vertrags auf Verkehrsleistungen im öffentlichen Interesse und mit dem Stand der regionalen Personenverkehr in der Slowakei und Serbien. Zweiter Teil der Arbeit beschäftigt sich die Situation der regionalen Eisenbahnverkehr und Änderung auf dem Eisenbahnverkehrsmarkt in der Slowakei und Serbien und mit der Möglichkeit der Anwendung der Methodik und Revitalisierung dieser Staaten.

The paper presents a proposal of methodology for revitalisation of regional railway tracks and regional railway traffic, liberalization and competition in railway transport, quality requirements in regional traffic, principles of the contract on transport services in the public interest and with the current state of regional passenger transport in Slovakia and Serbia. First part of the paper deals with a theoretical approach of transport policy, transport regulation, suburban transport and introduces a methodology for revitalisation of regional railway tracks.

Ersten Teil der Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit theoretischen Ansatz der Verkehrspolitik, Verkehrsregelung, Vorortverkehr und die Vorbereitung Methodik der Wiederbelebung der regionalen Eisenbahnlinien.

The noise is the one of negative elements influencing human health. This article aims at the measurement of noise emitted by road vehicle and its parts during the operation. The measurement was done with a digital sound meter in the interior of common passenger cars. The results compare the noise value in different cars with different body shape, which influences the drivers health.

One of the most important characteristics of the railway transport is a safety. Different types of transported goods properties need individual approach to prepare safety goods transportation. It is important to load and fix goods in railway wagons in well done way to reduce the number of accidents on the railway. The bad way of loading and fixing of the goods in the railway wagons can bring a very dangerous results as a damage of the transported goods or accident of the train. This paper deals with the analysis of the railway infrastructure parameters, which affect the well done way of loading and fixing of goods in railway wagons for highcapacity transport.

Logistic centers are beneficial in the entire scale of their importance, ranging from the economic, ecological up to the social benefits. The costs for the construction of the logistics centers are very high. It is therefore important to set up the sufficient capacity for all partial parts of the logistic center. One possibility is to use the simulation processes to verify the expected future operations in the logistics center. This article deals with the benefits of the simulation processes and their possible use in the design of the new logistics centers.

Centra logistyczne są korzystne w skali całego ich znaczenia, począwszy od ekonomicznych, ekologicznych do świadczeń socjalnych. Koszty budowy centrów logistycznych jest bardzo wysoki. Dlatego ważne jest, aby ustawić odpowiednią pojemność dla wszystkich częściowych części centra logistycznego. Jedną z możliwości jest wykorzystanie symulacji procesów do sprawdzenia oczekiwanej przyszłej działalności w centrum logistycznym. Ten artykuł dotyczy korzyści z procesów symulacji i ich ewentualnego wykorzystania w projektowaniu nowych centrów logistycznych.
