W artykule przedstawiono zadania systemu ostrzeżeń i prognoz oraz zagrożenia powodziowe powiatu Busko. Opisano przyczyny awarii wałów. Omówiono krajowy system monitoringu i prognoz, uzasadniając konieczność współpracy IMGW z LSOP powiatu Busko. Zwrócono uwagę na potrzeby w zakresie edukacji powodziowej w powiecie Busko.

The paper presents the tasks of the warning and forecasting system as well as the flood risk for the Busko district. It also describes the cause of the shafts failure. The national system of monitoring and forecasting was discussed. The need for cooperation with the LSOP Busko district and IMGW /Institute of Meteorology and Water Management/ was justified. The attention was paid to the educational needs concerning the problem of flood in the Busko district.

Powodzie w ostatnich dwóch dekadach spowodowały w Polsce duże straty ludzkie i materialne. Artykuł przedstawia problematykę zagrożeń związanych z powodziami i podtopieniami. Omówiono mechanizmy generujące powodzie. O zmianach zagrożenia powodziowego wnioskujemy z analizy szeregów czasowych obserwacji, a także na podstawie modelowych projekcji na przyszłość. Dokonano przeglądu możliwości redukcji ryzyka powodziowego i strategii ochrony przed powodzią.

In the last two decades, the floods in Poland have caused important human and material losses. The article presents the issue of threats related to floods and flooding. The authors discuss mechanisms generating floods. Conclusions on changes in the flood threat are drawn from the observation time series and the model future projections. The article reviews possibilities to reduce the flood risk and flood protection strategies.

They expect that in view of the planned building of the stage of fall Nieszawa-Ciechocinekthe fables connected with the stage of fall and the water reservoir Wtoctawek will be dispelled.
