In modern CNC machines, there is a possibility of temperature generated at the contacting interface which affect the distribution pattern of asperities and hence the elastoplastic deformation at the contact. There is no evidence of experimental work in this area, varying the temperature at the interface. In this paper, an attempt has been made to study the contact deformation behaviour of filled and unfilled TEFLON, under varying load and varying temperature at the contacting interface. The measurement was done using TESA electronic comparator in contact compliance test rig. Contact deformation of Carbon Filled Teflon was observed lower than that of Pure and Glass filled Teflon. Empirical relationship between load, temperature and contact deformation has been found out. Entire experiment has been carried out by processing through statistical design of experiments.
