Basic properties of waste of fresh cut off birch are investigated. The techniques of impregnation of the crushed birch by water solutions of H3PO4, CaCl2 and FeC13, and also technique for analysis of P2O5, CaCl2 and FeCl3 contents in the received wood are developed and tested. Samples of the crushed birch with the contents of P2O5, CaCl2, FeCl3: 5,9x10-s, 1,3x10-5 and 4,63x10-5s mol/g are obtained. Installation for researches of wood carbonization processes is created and tested in the operation. The processes of carbonization of clean and impregnated wood are investigated in two modes: with and without the use of volatile calorific value of birch for carbonization. Sample of birch waste impregnated by water solution of H3PO2 was chosen for conversion in synthesis-gas with the high content of hydrogen at the installation for fuel cell tests for the reasons: the greatest stability of the particles obtained in the process of wood coal carbonization during high rates of heating, increased output of wood coal with high content of fixed carbon.
