Purpose: The research aimed to identify what causes some highly skilled migrants from Ukraine to work according to their qualifications and others work below their qualifications. Design/methodology/approach: This article discusses the results of a survey conducted among 248 highly skilled economic migrants from Ukraine working in Poland. Two groups were analysed: working according to their qualifications and working below their qualifications. The study was carried out between December 2021 and March 2022. The CATI method has been used. Findings: There is a statistically significant relationship between the length of work experience of respondents in Ukraine and whether or not they are working according to their qualifications or below their qualifications. There is a statistically significant relationship between working in accordance with or not in accordance with qualifications and the assessment of whether it is difficult for a Ukrainian to get a job in Poland in accordance with his/her qualification. Research limitations/implications: The limitation of the conducted research is that it is conducted exclusively from the perspective of the migrant and does not take into account external factors such as the situation in the labour market of the host country, legal conditions, employers' attitudes towards employing foreigners in positions requiring higher education. This should be taken into account in future research. Practical implications: The research also has implications for the management of organisations. They show that there are people among the Ukrainian workforce whose potential is not being used. Their talents could be utilised within the organisation. Further research should look at companies and examine how the process of hiring foreign workers works and determine when a company decides to hire a highly qualified Ukrainian according to his/her background. Social implications: Poland has become a country of immigration. Economic migrants from Ukraine were joined by refugees from that country after 24.02.2022. The proper use of migrants' qualifications is therefore important from the point of view of the economy, but also of the host society. Originality/value: It shows the possibility of using highly qualified migrants from Ukraine in the organisation. In the Polish labour market migrants from Ukraine are mainly employed as manual workers.

Purpose: There are several factors that affect the satisfaction and performance of virtual and face-to-face teams. Literature shows however, that there is a research gap as to the influence regarding the analysis of those factors in regards to different generations. The purpose of the paper is the youngest generation – Gen Z functions in virtual and face-to-face teams and how the type of team influences the performance and satisfaction of team members. Design/methodology/approach: Adopting a generational approach, a research design, including an experiment and a survey, was developed in order to analyze if the type of teamwork affects performance and satisfaction of Generation Z representatives. Findings: Findings suggest that the youngest, tech-savvy generation functions easier and more naturally in virtual teams, showing no significant differences in performance in virtual and face 16 to-face teams, and even indicate that working in virtual teams is more satisfying than working in traditional teams. Practical implications: The results of the research can provide a basis for managerial decisions when selecting members of real and virtual teams. Originality/value: The paper contributes to the ongoing scientific debate by presenting the perspective of Generation Z on virtual work, which, to a certain extent, contradicts current beliefs about performance and satisfaction in traditional and virtual teams. It shows that the generational approach should be included in team design in order improve team and organizational competitiveness.

Organizations and decision-makers are increasingly interested and aware of the importance of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. This has led to the adoption of the European Union’s Directive 2014/95/EU regulating the reporting of non-financial and diversity information. The research problem of this paper concerns the top-down Europeanization of corporate social responsibility disclosure in Polish organizations. Secondly, the actual reaction of the entities affected by the Directive 2014/95/EU has been investigated. The level of Europeanization has been analyzed through qualitative text analysis of legal documents and the reaction and perception by the entities of EU influence has been examined by CATI research. The research has been conducted on a sample of 101 organizations listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, subject to the Directive. The findings suggest that although some change in Polish law did occur, and, therefore, transposition has been made, the organizations assessed the impact of the Directive as non-existing. The novelty of the paper lies with the comprehensive analysis of the Europeanization process, from the level of national legislation to the actual perception of affected entities.
