Results on investigation of power characteristics of electric-arc plasma generators (plasmatrons) are shown in the current report by the example of different constructions. Special attention is paid to new results on electrode erosion of jet and melting plasmatrons, aimed at extension of their service lives up to several hundreds of hours. Data obtained for thermal-emission cathodes and copper water-cooled electrodes are also presented.
