The investigation of hardenability of low alloy structural cast steel

Purpose: The aim of the investigation was to verify if published data for calculation of the hardenability of steel can be used for calculation of hardenability of cast steel and the optimal selection of these data for obtaining the best agreement between calculated and experimental data. Design/methodology/approach: The analysis of the hardenability of low alloy cast steel was carried out using Jominy test and analytical Grossmann method. The optimal data for calculation of ideal critical diameter, Di and Jominy curve were selected. Findings: The hardenability curves of cast steel measured on different planes of Jominy test show scatter on the contrary to forged steel Practical implications: Results of investigations prove that data for calculation of hardenability parameters used for steel can be applied with sufficient accuracy for calculation the hardenability of cast steel. The hardenability of cast steel shows scatter of results. Originality/value: The analysis of the hardenability of cast steel can be carried out using the same data as for forged steel.

Bogate i zróżnicowane zespoły mięczaków zostały znalezione w osadach holocenu Gór Kaczawskich i obrzeżenia Kotliny Kłodzkiej. Na Górze Miłek koło Wojcieszowa oraz w Kletnie, w masywie Śnieżnika Kłodzkiego występują one w osadach wypełniających formy krasowe, natomiast w okolicach Polanicy Zdroju - w mułkach i madach tworzących niskie terasy Bystrzycy Dusznickiej i potoku Cicha. Malakofauna wskazuje na obecność osadów dolnego, środkowego i górnego holocenu oraz na zmiany środowiska związane zarówno z warunkami klimatycznymi, jak też z nasilającym się wpływem działalności człowieka

Rich and differentiated assemblages of molluscs were found in Holocene deposits of the Kaczawa Mts. and the border of the Kłodzko Basin. These are mollusc-bearing sandy and silty loams filling karst forms on the Miłek Hill near Wojcieszów and in Kletno as well as calcareous silts and muds formig river terraces near Polanica and Chocieszów. Deposits of Lower, Middle and Upper Holocene have been distinguished. The fauna indicates changes of the environment controlled both by the climate and the growing human impact
