The focus of the paper is to identify risks in various areas of operation of a selected trade and production company. The risks primarily referred to threats that had direct or indirect impact on the functioning of the organisation, thence the causes of their occurrence and effects are determined. Identification of individual risks is made based on analyses of internal and external context of the enterprise. In this study, over thirty key risks were identified, in the operational and strategic area, which is related to the taking of immediate action. The final stage of the paper includes preparation of control mechanisms allowing for minimisation or elimination of the discovered risks.
The article presents the Job Safety Analysis for a Glass Production Line Operator's Workstation in the context of the Risk Management Process. The main tasks performed by the worker have been defined, and then risks associated with each activity and preventive actions have been identified. On this basis, for the Health & Safety risk analysis and assessment, criteria have been established, which take into account the actual exposure to risks and their probability and results.
Provision of professional work is very often associated with the worker's exposure to the occurrence of various types of threats. Some of the most important include those related to physical overload. Excessive strain on the musculoskeletal system can lead to muscle, ligament and tendon injuries. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the workplace in terms of its ergonomics. This paper presents the assessment of the load of the worker's movement system using the REBA method, which takes into account the location of: head with neck, torso, lower limb, as well as hands with the wrist, forearm and arm.
The strategic importance of information for the functioning of each economic entity forces entrepreneurs to properly protect them against loss, unauthorized disclosure or unauthorized modification. Hence, organizations build complex security systems taking into account state-of-the-art technical solutions, while belittling often the most important element, which is the human factor. It should be emphasized that it is the intentional or accidental actions of the human that can lead to the loss of information security. In addition, it is also the potential of human capabilities and skills can provide an effective defense against the failure or technical security. The article presents the basic stages of human resource management in the aspect of information security. Complementing these considerations will be the presentation and discussion of the results of surveys aimed at assessing the level of employee awareness in the area of information security.
The subject of this publication is to assess the exposure of the water jet operator to the noise hazard. The publication presents basic information about noise in the work environment. Next, the procedure of noise measurement in the work environment was discussed and the results of tests carried out at the water jet operator's station for three basic activities were presented, ie: (1) plotter support, supervision of the cutting process, loading and receiving material, (2) auxiliary, transport and cleaning, (3) computer service, keeping documentation, hygienic and social break. The noise level test included the determination of: the maximum sound level A LAmax the peak sound level C LCpeak, the noise exposure level related to the 8-hour work day LEX,8h. Based on the obtained measurement results, it can be stated that the exposure to noise at the station of the waterjet operator is at an acceptable level.
The subject of this publication is to analyze the circumstances and causes of accidents at work in a selected industrial enterprise that provides services in the field of water jet cutting and laser beam. The paper present the statutory definition of an accident at work and its basic categories (light, heavy, mortal and collective accident). It also discusses the most popular accident investigation method – the TOL method, which classifies the causes of accidents into three basic groups: material-technical, organizational and human. In the further part of the work the characteristics of the waterjet operator's work station were made, including the scope of activities, possible occupational hazards and preventive actions. Next, the results of the analysis of the circumstances and causes of accidents at work were presented. In the period from 2013 to 2018 eight accidents were reported, resulting in minor injuries, such as cuts and cuts, fracture of the phalanx, overloading of the spine, leg twisting or knee injury.
Basic parameter characterizing the body's workload (in particular physical work) is the energy expenditure, which determines the amount of energy used to perform a specific job (in kcal or kJ). The purpose of this work was to determine the energy expenditure at the station of a water-cutting machine using the tabular-timing method according to G. Lehmann. As part of the author's own research, the position of the waterjet operator was described, taking into account the basic hazards present in the work environment and the requirements regarding occupational health and safety. The paper also presents the results of the energy expenditure assessment and their analysis, which allowed to propose corrective and preventive actions.
