An approach to simulation modeling of traction electric drives of electric locomotives with collector engines is proposed which based on taking into account the nonlinear nature of the magnetic characteristic in electric motors, the inductances of the armature and the excitation winding of the electric motor, the nonlinearity of the volt-amperage characteristics of the rectifier unit and the features of the operation of the stage control system of the electric drive.

Zaproponowano podejście do modelowania symulacyjnego elektrycznych napędów trakcyjnych lokomotyw elektrycznych z silnikami kolektorowymi, oparte na uwzględnieniu w silnikach elektrycznych nieliniowości charakterystyki magnetycznej, indukcyjności twornika i uzwojenia wzbudzenia silnika elektrycznego, nieliniowości charakterystyki napięciowo-napięciowej zespołu prostownikowego oraz cech działania układu sterowania stopniowego napędu elektrycznego.

The use of specialized rail rolling stock which is used for transporting ore from the quarry to the crushing plant at mining enterprises is analyzed here. Electric locomotives with an asynchronous traction electric drive and an on-board energy storage system are considered for use. The calculated dependencies of the electric locomotive tractive power were analyzed and it was established that on flat sections of the track profile, the movement is carried out with a power that does not exceed 50% of the nominal one. The movement with the nominal power is carried out on the controlled uphill during the cargo half-passage. To ensure the necessary power for movement in such areas, the use of an on-board energy storage system is proposed, which should feed the traction system while limiting the power consumed from the catenary. This happens when the voltage on the pantograph drops to a minimum level. The aim of this work is to determine the on-board energy storage system parameters during the operation of the electric locomotive with limitation of the power consumed from the traction network. Mathematical models of the energy exchange processes in the electric locomotive traction system have been developed. The criteria for comparing options for calculating the parameters of the on-board energy storage system have been proposed. The criteria take into account the reduction of energy consumption during movement, the efficiency of energy storage, and the complete use of the on-board energy storage system in terms of power and working energy capacity. Based on the calculation results, it was determined that the use of an energy storage device with a power of 3,540 kW and an operating energy capacity of 63.5 kWh provides a 10% reduction in energy consumption, which is being consumed while moving along the sample section of the road. The current that can be consumed by an electric locomotive with such parameters of the on-board energy storage system is limited by 600 A.

The paper presents the results of studies of the influence of the quality of power systems on the characteristics of an asynchronous electric motor with a squirrel-cage rotor. During the research, a mathematical model of an induction motor, made in the MATLab software environment, was used. Based on the simulation results, the coefficients of the torque ripple and the phase current unbalance were determined. The results obtained are compared with previous studies of the manifestation of turn-to-turn closures in the phases of the motor stator winding, which also create an asymmetry of the rotating magnetic field.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań wpływu jakości układów zasilających na charakterystyki silnika indukcyjnego ze zwartym wirnikiem. W badaniach wykorzystano model matematyczny silnika indukcyjnego wykonany w środowisku oprogramowania MATLab. Otrzymane wyniki porównuje się z wcześniejszymi badaniami występowania obwodów międzyzwojowych w fazach uzwojenia stojana silnika, które również tworzą asymetrię wirującego pola magnetycznego.

The paper proposes an improved model of an asynchronous traction motor, taking into account magnetic losses in the steel of the motor, as a function of time, based on the equations of specific losses. When conducting research, a mathematical model of an asynchronous motor, made in the MATLab software environment, was used. Based on the simulation results, the value of average magnetic losses and time diagrams of magnetic losses were obtained for the nominal operating mode of the motor. The results obtained are compared with the passport data of the motor.

W pracy zaproponowano udoskonalony model asynchronicznego silnika trakcyjnego uwzględniający straty magnetyczne w stali silnikowej w funkcji czasu, oparty na równaniach strat właściwych. W badaniach wykorzystano model matematyczny silnika indukcyjnego, wykonany w środowisku oprogramowania MATLab. Na podstawie wyników symulacji uzyskuje się wartości średnich strat magnetycznych oraz wykresy czasowe strat magnetycznych dla nominalnego trybu pracy silnika, a uzyskane wyniki porównuje się z danymi paszportowymi silnika.

Currently, in transport systems, as part of the main and auxiliary equipment, a large number of induction motors with a squirrel-cage rotor of different capacities are used. Their wide application in the transport industry is associated with the main advantages over other types of machines – a fairly high reliability, low cost and ease of maintenance. However, during the operation of these motors, a number of malfunctions can occur that affect the deterioration of the performance of the entire drive, the accuracy of its functions, or accelerate an emergency stop. To ensure proper control of the technical condition of electric motors, modern diagnostic systems are required that operate in real-time and operational loading mode with the transmission of data on the instantaneous state of the main control elements. The paper proposes a block diagram of the diagnostic built-in system and developed a modular unit for it to set the type and degree of the most complex damage - inter-turn short circuit in the stator winding.
