The article focuses on indicating a set of competencies required for production branches based on the data regarding the Podlaskie labour market. The data was collected using quantitative surveys (in the form of questionnaires). Then, the Authors used network analysis to visualise the collected data and indicate the most frequently indicated set of competencies. Based on the opinion of respondents, the most popular competencies were professional knowledge and technical skills. These two competencies were also the most popular combination. Communication, self-reliance, thoroughness/reliability, sharing knowledge and experience, and teamwork/ collaboration also proved to be important. The entire set of the competencies is strongly linked, with professional knowledge and technical skills forming the foundation. Knowledge of foreign languages has also been identified as significant as well as decision making, which was, however, less frequently connected with the above. Despite the dominance of the two competencies attributed to the professional group, this group of competencies was the least numerous. Based on the example of the Podlaskie Region, the study informs about the set of competencies sought by manufacturing companies. Also, the most important competencies typical for individual branches are noted. This collection of competencies can serve as a basis for further theoretical considerations in the field of competency identification aimed at the production industry. In some cases, competencies indicated for different industries coincide, while in others they are divergent. The set of competencies indicated by the respondents informs job seekers in the area of production as well as institutions such as Voivodship Labour Office in Bialystok, whose task, among others, is to appropriately orientate the development of future employees.

The concept of Industry 4.0 associated with the increasing digitization of the entire production system is often described as the fourth industrial revolution. The fourth wave assumes a progressive digitization of the value chain in the industry and the development of the networks of contractors, machines, objects, processes and systems that exchange information immediately. These new realities, determine the need to adapt and enhance the qualifications of workers in industrial enterprises. It is natural to ask about the set of competences that will be significant from the perspective of the transition towards Industry 4.0. General purpose of this article is to try to answer this question. In the first part of the article the concept of Industry 4.0 is briefly described. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the network of thematic areas, in which the publications related to this topic are presented. The final part of the article deals with an analysis of the set of competences that will be needed while working in the realities of the fourth industrial revolution.

The objective of the analysis conducted and described in this article was to take a closer perspective of the contemporary research trends that refer to the discipline of technology management. The Author based the analysis on keywords defined by the authors of the publications that refer issues of technology management. Scopus was the database which provided data for the analysis. The Author focused on publications indexed in the selected database in 2011-2016. The resulting database keywords have been ordered and partially aggregated. Based on them, the VOSviewer tool was used to prepare a graphical presentation of frequency and co-occurrence with the rest of the analysed group. The analysis led to an indication of current research trends within the discipline of technology management.

W artykule zasygnalizowano, jak ważny jest aspekt identyfikacji obszarów badawczych, które wskazują na prace rozwojowe prowadzone w danym regionie przez jednostki naukowe. Zasadniczą część artykułu stanowi opis opracowanej procedury badawczej, umożliwiającej stworzenie mapy wiedzy zagadnień rozwijanych w ramach projektów badawczo -rozwojowych z regionu, zakwalifikowanych do finansowania za strony państwa. Istotna część publikacji to także case study dotyczące przygotowania takiej poglądowej mapy dla województwa podlaskiego. Celem artykułu była prezentacja opracowanego podejścia wraz z przykładowo stworzoną mapą.

The article pointed out the importance of popular research areas in the region. An essential part of the article was a description of the developed research method, enabling the creation of knowledge maps of issues developed under research and development projects in the region, funded by the state. A significant part of the publication is also a case study - the map for Podlaskie region. The purpose of the article was to present the final approach and the example of the map.

Regionalna strategia rozwoju nanotechnologii” – obejmującego ekspercką ocenę nanotechnologii uznanych za priorytetowe. Oceny dokonano w aspekcie dwóch grup kryteriów: atrakcyjności oraz wykonalności, w odniesieniu do województwa podlaskiego.

W niniejszym artykule o charakterze przeglądowym, wskazano na potrzebę analizy technologii we współczesnych realiach. Zidentyfikowano oraz krótko charakteryzowano koncepcje i metody analizy technologii, a następnie wyróżniono wśród nich jedną z metod diagnostycznych – metodę mapowania technologii. Istotną część opracowania stanowi ogólna charakterystyka metody oraz analiza wybranych doświadczeń zagranicznych w zakresie jej realizacji.

The paper’s author indicates the need for an in-depth analysis of technology in today's reality. The work identifies and briefly characterises the concepts and methods of technology analysis. The method of technology mapping is distinguished among the diagnostic methods. An important part of the study is a general description of the method and the analysis of selected foreign experiences of its implementation.

Wiedza jako zasób posiadany przez daną organizację jest jednym z jej najcenniejszych dóbr, które nie zawsze jest umiejętnie wykorzystywane. Podstawowym problemem związanym z zarządzeniem wiedzą w organizacji jest jej zlokalizowanie. W artykule skupiono się na przedstawieniu map wiedzy jako jednego z narzędzi lokalizacji zasobów wiedzy w organizacji. Zaprezentowano wiedzę jako zasób organizacji oraz przybliżono pojęcie i schemat tworzenia map wiedzy, jak również wybrane przykłady mapowania wiedzy w organizacji.

Knowledge as an organization resource is one of its most valuable assets, which is not always skillfully exploited. The main problem associated with the knowledge management in the organization is knowledge location. The article focuses on the presentation of knowledge map as one of the tool to locate resources of knowledge. The author presents knowledge as resource of the organization, brought closer to the concept and schematic of mapping and shows some examples of mapping knowledge in organization.

In the early nineteenth century knowledge management has become one of the most popular trends in management. A modern organization in order to be competitive in the market has to become an innovative company. The article presents knowledge as one of the organizations resources, taking into account its division into the explicit and tacit knowledge. It also considers the difficulties in knowledge management. Innovation and its types are briefly discussed here. Finally authors indicate the relationship between the processes of knowledge management and creating innovation in an organization.
