Gel treatments of producers and injectors give good results in waterflood conformance improvement and have a wide application practice in west Siberia. The main mechanism of the method is flow diverting in a reservoir stratification and sweep improvement. The method is usually applied on the last stage of field development when water breakthrough causes high watercut. Analysis of field applications in west Siberia showed that gel treatment of injectors give a possibility to decrease on several points average watercut in corresponding field spots. Several organic and inorganic gel reagents were tested for this technology. On the novel simulator basis parameters of treatrnent (gel slug volume) were optimized for several injectors of Severo-Danilovskoe oil field. The calculations were based on the geological model data. Inorganic gel systems were used for the treatments; injectivity profiles were registered pre- and post-treatment. Successes and failures of prediction procedure are analyzed.
