This study addresses the problem of magnetic field emission produced by the laptop computers. Although, the magnetic field is spread over the entire frequency spectrum, the most dangerous part of it to the laptop users is the frequency range from 50 to 500 Hz, commonly called the extremely low frequency magnetic field. In this frequency region the magnetic field is characterized by high peak values. To examine the influence of laptop’s magnetic field emission in the office, a specific experiment is proposed. It includes the measurement of the magnetic field at six laptop’s positions, which are in close contact to its user. The results obtained from ten different laptop computers show the extremely high emission at some positions, which are dependent on the power dissipation or bad ergonomics. Eventually, the experiment extracts these dangerous positions of magnetic field emission and suggests possible solutions.

The authors designed and realized an instrument for resistance measuring using the known comparison method. As the first solution it was a single range unit for small resistors. The further investigations had a goal to reach a wide resistance range measuring. It was achieved, but some of appeared difficulties had to be overcome. The paper presents the real instrument characteristics and describes the way of practical solutions of their improvements.

Autorzy zaprojektowali przyrząd do pomiaru rezystancji bazujący na metodzie porównania. Abu osiągnąć szeroki zakres pomiarowy niezbędne było rozwiązanie wielu nowych problemów. W artykule zaprezentowano możliwości wykonanego przyrządu.

Text line segmentation process represents the key step in the optical character recognition. Hence, the efficiency evaluation procedure for text line segmentation algorithms is the challenge. Text line segmentation process is established by the algorithms application to the text dataset. Furthermore, two goal-oriented methods for the evaluation of the text line segmentation results based on extended errors type and binary classification are explained. The paper presents the main points of the provided analyses and results discussion. The results confirm the superiority of the extended errors type over binary classification evaluation method.

Przedstawiono analizę algorytmów segmentacji linii tekstu. Analizowano dwie metody – analizy błędu i binarnej klasyfikacji. Wykazano przewagę pierwszej z tych metod.

The paper analyzes the estimation of the fundamental frequency from the real speech signal which is obtained by recording the speaker in the real acoustic environment modeled by the MP3 method. The estimation was performed by the Picking-Peaks algorithm with implemented parametric cubic convolution (PCC) interpolation. The efficiency of PCC was tested for Catmull-Rom, Greville, and Greville two- parametric kernel. Depending on MSE, a window that gives optimal results was chosen.
