The article presents possibility of performing trainings on board of the Gdynia Maritime Academy's training ships. It has been described main rules of curriculum of practices, also included requirements of the timeline of the practice which were defined in proper law acts as well as applying of those requirements in accomplishment of practices on board of the ships. Paper presents statistics of the numbers of students trained on board of "Dar Mlodziezy" from the Gdynia Maritime University and from other Maritime Universities and schools. Based on the presented statistics data it has been analyzed possibility of the extension time of the trainings. Such analysis assay results from curriculum of the Maritime Academy in Gdynia and others maritime schools.

The paper aims at defining project communication management pattern basing on characteristics of patterns defined in other disciplines like: design patterns in software engineering, knowledge management patterns, enterprise architecture management patterns, enterprise architecture patterns for multichannel management, or project management patterns. All these established patterns share some common concepts and elements but are devoted to different fields and structures of activities and specific problems. The definition of project communication management pattern proposed in this paper is an attempt of adaptation of the existing pattern concepts to the characteristics and nature of communication management and its needs.

Celem pracy jest zdefiniowanie wzorca zarządzania komunikacją projektową na podstawie cech charakterystycznych wzorców zdefiniowanych w innych dyscyplinach, takich jak: wzorce projektowe w inżynierii oprogramowania, wzorce zarządzania wiedzą, wzorce zarządzania architekturą przedsiębiorstwa, wzorce architektury do zarządzania wielokanałowego w przedsiębiorstwie czy wzorce zarządzania projektem. Wszystkie te wzorce mają pewne wspólne koncepcje i elementy, ale dotyczą różnych obszarów i struktur działania oraz specyficznych problemów. Definicja wzorca zarządzania komunikacją projektową zaproponowana w niniejszej pracy jest próbą adaptacji koncepcji istniejących wzorców do cech i istoty zarządzania komunikacją i jej potrzeb.

W artykule podjęto problematykę zdalnej kontroli czasu pracy w kontekście zarządzania projektami IT. Określono charakterystyczne cechy oprogramowania do zdalnej kontroli czasu pracy, dokonano przeglądu dostępnych na rynku narzędzi pod kątem ich funkcjonalności, platformy systemowej, na której działają, oraz rodzaju licencji, wreszcie opisano praktyczne doświadczenia na polu ich użytkowania uzyskane w trakcie pracy nad realizacją projektu BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus, wraz z wynikającymi z nich wnioskami.

The paper addresses the issues of remote work time tracking in the context of IT projects. It defines the key properties characteristic to remote work time tracking software, reviews the available time tracking tools in the aspects of their functionality, target system platform, and license type, and describes experiences of their practical usage acquired during realization of the BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus project, along with conclusions coming from them.

Python and C# are two programming languages of great educational value. Python has a simple and clear syntax, as well as a concise and readable source code, but is relatively slow, and its industrial applications are mostly web-based. Although the syntax and code readability of C# does not match the Python's high level, they are not very bad either; besides, the .NET language offers a fast JIT compiler, and can be found within a wide gamut of industrial applications. In this paper we present a comparison of these two languages, based on the data acquired from IT students who learnt both of them during programming courses. We use the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique to show the dominance of one language over another in respective comparison criteria, and obtain an overall answer which of the two languages is better, according to the ratings given by students.

Effective communication management is a crucial component of project management as it reduces non-productive effort, prevents duplication, helps to eliminate mistakes, manage uncertainty and generate ideas that lead to better solutions. It also encourages team-work, increases motivation and ensures the involvement of all team members. The larger the project, the more significant communication is for the results, because communication is the coordinating mechanism, which most strongly influences the results. That is why we should search for methods and tools to support this area of project management. The aim of the paper is to present the recent findings concerning methods and tools supporting communication processes, which are mostly used by project teams, kinds of communication, which prevail in realization of projects and kinds of media, indicated as the most popular among project team members. The paper also depicts the project managers' opinion concerning the factors, which cause communication problems as well as those, which influence improvement of communication processes.
