Research and education in chemical engineering and processing from the viewpoint of the scientific revolutions of the 21st century

In this paper selected achievements of the current and foreseeable scientific revolution are presented. This revolution defines adjacent fields of research in which the potential challenge for chemical engineering and processing exists. Taking these fields as a basis, an attempt is made to show present and future development tendencies in chemical engineering and processing. The conclusions, which are reached, may constitute a basis for placing chemical engineering within the framework of this scientific revolution.

The authors refer to the work entitled „Place and Role of Computer Graphic Arts in Researches on Applied Geometry, Technical Aesthetics and Ergonomics” by prof. Mikhajlenko. It is symptomatic that described there the idea of a newly introduced discipline of “Technical Aesthetics”, and accepted by the scientific authorities of Ukraine, converges with the ideas which emerged during the 8th International Conference on Engineering Computer Graphics and Descriptive Geometry, which was held in Austin in 1998. Discussion on terminology and the other aspects of a new discipline has been provided.

The subject of this work is determining optional number of points, the center and missing asymptote of hyperbola defined by three optional points and one asymptote. Presented problem is solved by two methods: the first one – based on using parallel chords determined according to Pascal theorem, and the second one issued from known construction of points of hyperbola defined by asymptotes and one point.
