W artykule omówiono okres przygotowania budowy i przebieg drążenia tuneli dla kolei szybkobieżnej w Niemczech. Łączna długość tunelu wyniesie 25,6 km. Z tego 22,5 km tunelu, o przekroju 136 m2, drążona jest metodą górniczą (NATM). Autor scharakteryzował warunki geologiczne i opisał wybrane rozwiązania techniczne. Szczególne problemy przy budowie tuneli stwarzają tam zjawiska krasowe. Do maja 2000 roku wydrążono 11 km opisywanego tunelu czyli 70 % całej trasy. Zakończenie budowy całej trasy zaplanowano na maj 2003 r.

The article discusses the period of preparation and the course of tunnelling of the tunnel for a fast railway route in Germany. The total length of the tunnels will be 25,6 km. Out of that 22,5 km of the tunnel with across-section of 136 m2 is being driven with the mining method (NATM). The author characterises geological conditions and describes selected technical solutions. Karst effect creates special problems during tunnelling. 11 km of the tunnel under consideration was already driven till May 2000.

Artykuł przedstawia wartości ekologiczne, techniczne i społeczne, wybudowanego w latach 1996-1999 we Wschodniej Saksonii odcinka autostrady A-4 z tunelem Königshainer Berge o długości tuneli po około 3300 m. Obok poprawy jakości i bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego w kierunkach Wschód - Zachód, przyjęte rozwiązanie uchroniło rezerwat krajobrazowy "Triebischtäk przed uciążliwościami narastającego ruchu samochodowego. Decydującym kryterium w procesie oceny warunków budowy stanowiła możliwie jak najmniejsza ingerencja w środowisko. Całkowity koszt budowy dwunitkowego tunelu wyniósł około 164 min DM.

The article presents ecological, technical and social values of A-4 highway section constructed in Easter Saxony in 1996-99 with the Königshainer Berge Tunnel of the tunnels length of about 3300 m. Beside improvement of quality and safety of road traffic on East - West direction the accepted solution has also saved ,,Triebischtäler" landscape reserve against burden of increasing car movement. The list possible impact upon the environment was a decisive criterion of the process of the construction's conditions assessment. The total cost of a two-lane tunnel construction amounted to about 164 mln DM.
