In this article, infrared spectroscopic investigation of dihydrogen bonded clusters between borane-amines and acidic protons is presented. The vibrational spectra of 0-H and N-H stretching vibrations in phenol, aniline, and 2-pyridone, respectively, clearly indicate that these compounds act as proton donors to borane-amines. Experimental observations along with the density functional theory based calculations establish the formation of "dihydrogen bonding" between the O-H/N-H and B-H groups.
