Bezpieczeństwo ekologiczne Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowskiej Metropolii : perspektywy, zadania i zagrożenia

Metropolie są rozległymi obszarami gęsto zamieszkałymi, z czego wynikają liczne zagrożenia, w tym środowiskowe. W artykule poddano analizie zagrożenia ekologiczne występujące na terenach metropolii oraz dokonano klasyfikacji źródeł zagrożeń. Zagrożenia, występujące na terenach metropolii zostały zdefiniowane w pięciu kategoriach: zaopatrzenie w wodę i odprowadzenie i oczyszczanie ścieków; gospodarka odpadami komunalnymi; energetyka i ochrona powietrza; rekultywacja i rewitalizacja terenów poprzemysłowych i zdegradowanych; transport. Omówiono też uwarunkowania prawne funkcjonowania metropolii wskazując na ich niedoskonałości. W końcowej części artykułu analizie poddane zostały zagrożenia na terenie Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowskiej Metropolii ze wskazaniem przyczyn i ewentualnych skutków ich występowania.

Metropolis is a large and densely populated urban area which is exposed to different threats, including environmental ones. This article analyses ecological threats appearing in the area of metropolis and classifies sources of threats. The threats were classified in five categories: water supply and sewage disposal and treatment; municipal waste management; energy and air protection; remediation and brownfield redevelopment; transport. Legal conditions concerning functioning of metropolis were discussed indicating their inadequacies. In the final part of the article ecological threats in Silesia Metropolis were analysed pointing out reasons and potential results of their occurrence.

Omówiono wpływ idei i treści ekologicznych prezentowanych przez niektóre organizacje ekologiczne na kształtowanie postaw i świadomości ekologicznej młodzieży. Zwrócono uwagę na wybrane dokumenty, takie jak: Apel Heidelberski oraz Petycję w sprawie globalnego ocieplenia wyrażające obawy środowiska uczonych przed nierzetelnym interpretowaniem wyników badań naukowych. Wskazano na wagę problemu starannego doboru treści ekologicznych przekazywanych młodzieży w szkolnej edukacji ekologicznej oraz odpowiedzialności nauczyciela za właściwe kształtowanie poglądów i postaw ekologicznych młodzieży.

The article discusses the influence of ecological ideas and issues raised by some ecological organizations on the ecological awareness and attitudes of the youth. Such documents as The Heidelberg Appeal and Global Warming Petition are discussed as they show the concern of the scientists about the inadequate and false interpretation of scientific research. The focus has been laid on the accurate and appropriate choice of ecological issues that are raised at schools and are part of the ecological education programmes and on the responsibility of the teachers for shaping the ecological awareness and attitudes of the youth.

Wciąż postępujący stan degradacji środowiska naturalnego wielu obszarów Ziemi oraz zmieniająca się świadomość ekologiczna społeczeństw wskazują na silną potrzebę kształcenia specjalistów ochrony środowiska na poziomie studiów wyższych. Specjaliści ci powinni posiadać szeroką wiedzę z zakresu nauk przyrodniczych, technicznych, prawnych, ekonomicznych i o zarządzaniu oraz umiejętność praktycznego jej zastosowania. Omówiono niektóre edukacyjne uwarunkowania kształcenia specjalistów ochrony środowiska oraz została scharakteryzowana sylwetka absolwenta inżynierskich studiów zawodowych specjalności zarządzanie i ekonomika w ochronie środowiska.

Since the natural environment in many parts of the worid is constantly being degraded and the society is becoming more and more aware of the dangers connected with this situation, there is an urgent need to train specialists who will take care of the environment at the academic level. They should be familiar with a wide range of subjects staring from the natural and technical science, law, economics and management. They should also be able to put their knowledge and skills into practice. The article discusses some educational aspects of training environmental specialists and provides an outline of a graduate of studies specializing in the management and economics of natural environment engineering.

It is usually believed that alkali metals can only take positive oxidation number. In 50s and 60s the solutions of alkali metals in amines and liquid ammonia have been investigated, and the presence of solvated electrons (paramagnetic individuals) and of some diamagnetic individuals in these solutions was found [2, 5]. In 70s macrocycles have been used for the solubilization of alkali metals. The concentration of metals in solutions considerably increases in the presence of these compounds, which makes the solutions of alkali metals an interesting object for chemical and in particular physico-chemical investigations. These indicated that it is the alkali metal anion that is responsible for diamagnetism of the samples [8-14]. Until now a variety of methods have been developed which aimed at synthesis of the compounds containing the alkali metal anion found in solutions or as crystals (ionic crystals) [10, 19, 23, 38]. The physical and chemical properties of such compounds and their use in synthesis have been investigated [10, 49, 52, 54, 56].
