One of the main problems of multivariable cost functions in model predictive control is the choice of weighting factors. Two finite control set model predictive control algorithms, applied to the three-phase active rectifier with an LCL filter, are described in the paper. The investigated algorithms, i.e. PCicuc and PCigicuc, implement multivariable approaches applying line (grid) current, capacitor voltage and converter current. The main problem dealt with in the paper is the choice of optimum values of the cost function weighting factors. The values of the factors calculated using the method proposed in the paper are very close to the values represented by the lowest THDi of the line current. Moreover, simulations verifying the equations used in the prediction of controlled values, i.e. line current, capacitor voltage and converter current, are presented. Both simulation and experimental results are presented to verify effectiveness of the investigated control strategies under change of the load (P = 5 kW and 2.5 kW), during transient states, under unbalanced and balanced line voltage.
Most of the basic control methods of the grid-connected converter (GCC) are defined to work with a sine wave grid voltage. In that case if the grid voltage is distorted by higher harmonics, the grid current may be distorted too, which, in consequence, may increase the value of the THD of the grid voltage. The paper deals with an improved finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) method of an LCL-filtered GCC operating under distorted grid conditions. The proposed method utilizes supplementary grid current feedback to calculate the reference converter current. The introduced signal allows to effectively improve the operation when the grid is subject to harmonic distortion. The paper shows a simulation analysis of the proposed control scheme operating with and without additional feedback under grid distortions. To validate the practical feasibility of the proposed method an algorithm was implemented on a 32-bit microcontroller STM32F7 with a floating point unit to control a 10 kW GCC. The laboratory test setup provided experimental results showing properties of the introduced control scheme.

W artykule przedstawiono predykcyjną metodę regulacji momentu i strumienia (PTFC). W artkule przedstawiono analityczny sposób doboru optymalnej wartości współczynnika wagowego zapewniającego porównywalne tętnienia składowych wektora prądu stojana na podstawie parametrów maszyny i falownika.

These paper presents a predictive torque and flux control method (PTFC). Its main drawback is the need to choose the value of weighting factor in cost function J. The weight factor determines the level of torque and flux ripple and also the value of average switching frequency. In the present state of knowledge value of weighting factor is selected experimentally. The article presents an analytical way of selecting the optimal value of the weight factor providing comparable ripple level of components of the stator current vector based on the parameters of the machine and the inverter.

Surgical robots are more and more common in hospitals. In many situations, their use facilitates the work of surgeons and at the same time, improves the quality of the operation. However, there are still many problems that need to be solved, so that these robots can be used more universally. It is crucial to provide the surgeon who controls the robotic arm with information about the resistance encountered by the robot. To accomplish this, the robot should be equipped with the haptic functions. The article considers the use of a laparotomic manipulator based on the kinematics of the human hand in scale and its approximate dynamics, for research on these functions. Data from sensors placed in the robot's drives responsible for the particular degrees of freedom can be transferred to the exoskeleton used for control, without any need for a complicated processing. As a response to these signals, the exoskeleton will actively affect the surgeon's band.
Power electronic three-level AC-DC converters connecting a utility grid with DC supplies are widely used in renewable energy sources. For such distributed systems, the quality of energy is very important. Hence, control algorithms of an AC-DC converter have to provide not only a sinusoidal shape of grid current, but also stable operation during transient states in the grid, e.g. voltage dips or voltage unbalance. This paper deals with the problem of robustness of AC-DC control methods under disturbed grid voltage. Three modern predictive control algorithms are presented and investigated under grid voltage distortions. Experimental results from a laboratory test setup illustrating properties of the described methods are shown.
W artykule pokazano możliwość połączenia tych technik do otrzymywania folii ceramicznej z tlenku glinu o ustrukturyzowanej powierzchni.

Ceramic materials are widely used in almost every field of science or technology, as well as in everyday life. So versatile application of ceramic materials due to the fact that they have a number of unique physical and chemical properties allow using them in areas where polymers and metals fail. Nowadays, different shaping methods of ceramic materials with complex geometry which can be applied in optics, electronics, medicine, aerospace, etc. were developed. One of these methods is stereolithography which uses UV curable ceramic suspensions. However, the main disadvantage of this method is the high price of equipment and small size of printed elements. A much less expensive alternative which is capable to replace stereolithography in certain areas, does not require sophisticated equipment and can be used practically in every laboratory is a combination of tape casting with soft lithography. The article presents the possibility to combine these techniques in fabrication of surface-structured ceramic tapes.

W artykule przedstawiono dwa algorytmy predykcyjnego sterowania przekształtnikiem AC/DC z filtrem LCL. Drugi z nich bazuje na nowej koncepcji regulacji przekształtnika AC/DC z wykorzystaniem rozszerzonego modelu filtru LCL i rozbudowanej funkcji kosztu. W artykule dokonano porównania obydwu metod poprzez porównanie wartości współczynnika THD prądu sieciowego.

The mechanism, kinetic and static studies of fructose adsorption at the alumina/electrolyte interface using radiolabeled 14C-fructose were conducted. Pseudo 2nd order model of adsorption kinetics was found to fit best to adsorption as a function of time. The fructose adsorption was found to decrease with increasing pH of the solution. Considering the changes in concentration of surface groups at the alumina/electrolyte interface, the hydrogen bonding is the most probable mechanism of interaction of fructose with the surface. This is confirmed by calorimetric titration experiments because the measured heat of adsorption was 10.8 kJ/mol. For the system studied the coverage of surface by fructose was several times smaller than the monolayer.

In recent years dynamic progress has been seen in almost all areas of engineering materials. It has contributed to the development of new, innovative materials such as composite materials. Nowadays, a great deal of research is focused on ceramic/metal composites due to their potential to be used in many applications. An example of such a material is ZrO2-Ni composites. This paper describes ZrO2-Ni composites formed by uniaxial pressing and sintering in an argon atmosphere. The microstructure, selected physical and mechanical properties such as hardness, fracture toughness and the biaxial strength of the composites were investigated. The sintered composites had a relative density close to 99% of the theoretical density. The distribution of the component phases was uniform. It was found that the presence of Ni particles affects the mechanical properties of the ZrO2 matrix. It was also revealed that the composites exhibit a lower bending strength than ceramic materials obtained under the same conditions. The composites show a decrease in hardness in regard to the hardness of monolithic ZrO2. The presence of Ni particles in the composites causes dissipation of propagating crack energy, which results in an increased fracture toughness value measured for ZrO2-Ni composites in comparison to the value obtained for monolithic zirconia.

Ceramic - metal composites are widely used materials in a whole world. There were invented many fabrication methods for those kind of materials, but still exists some problems which need to be fixed. Stability of high density metal particles (e.g. W, Mo, Nb) in ceramic-metal composite suspensions is one of crucial issues to be solved in order to obtain homogenous composite material with desired properties such as high fracture toughness, mechanical strength, hardness, wear resistance. In this paper, results of two different methods of stabilizing W particles in Al2O3 - W - H2O system were compared. The zeta potential by laser doppler electrophoresis, stability by static multiple light scattering and rheological behavior of prepared suspensions were analyzed. As a result application of hetero-flocculation effect was consider as a good way to obtain homogeneous dispersion of metal particles with a high density.
The aim of the work was to develop a sacrificial paste suitable for securing channels during shaping of ceramic materials with internal structures via combination of tape casting and soft lithography. Poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether and polyethylene glycols with different molecular weight were selected as a main components of a sacrificial paste due to their compatibility to UV curable dispersion. The research shows that sacrificial paste should be characterized by proper melting point. This goal was achieved by using a composition of PEG600 with 15wt.%PEG20000 and 10wt.% carbon. The invented sacrificial paste solidify beyond 27°C (melting point). After heating up to 80°C the viscosity of paste is low enough and easily fills the channels with diameter of 150-300uni. What is more, the operational time during free cooling from 80°C to solidification is around 8 minutes what gives enough time for application. Carbon was added as a modifier of rheological properties and as a black dye that helps in visual evaluation of a degree of filling channel. The first test proved that proposed method of preparation of ceramic samples with application of invented sacrificial paste is reliable and can be practically applied.
Slip casting is one of the most popular shaping method in ceramic technology which allows producing a large number of elements in small period of time. This shaping technique gives a possibility to fabricate ceramic or composite materials such as ZrO2-Ti. Ti with its properties (low density, high melting point, high-temperature strength, good corrosion resistance and others) combine with ZrO2 (high flexure strength, high compression resistance and very high KIC) can be considered for different applications as constructional and functional materials. For the preparation of such composite nanometric zirconium oxide powder stabilized by 3 mol% Y2O3 and micrometric titanium powder were used. Water-based slurries with 35, 40, 45 and 50 vol.% solid phase content were prepared with 3, 10 and 15 vol.% addition of titanium powder. Zeta potential and pH of prepared slurries were considered. The pH changes were tested as a function of Ti content. The viscosity of the prepared slurries was measured. The sedimentation tests for selected slurries were performed. The casting rate for slurry of 35% solid phase with 10 vol.% Ti was examined. These measurements showed good stability of slurries. With the increasing of the solid phase concentration the density of the green bodies increased. However, the increase of the content of Ti powder reduced the density of green body samples. For selected samples the SEM observations was carried out. Composites produced by slip casting were characterized by a homogenous distribution of Ti particles in the ZrO2 matrix.
