W artykule przedstawiono wybrane funkcjonalności wykorzystującego drony komputerowego systemu Matterhorn oraz możliwości jego zastosowania przy optymalizacji procesów towarzyszących robotom górniczym w odkrywkowych zakładach górniczych, służącej podniesieniu bezpieczeństwa pracy, ograniczeniu ryzyka oraz poprawie efektywności dzięki oszczędności czasu i zmniejszeniu zużycia części maszyn.

Last years were the time of rapid development of drones technology. That's why SSE Group has developed Matterhorn drone based system for open pit mines, which is described in the paper. Appropriate selection of drone fly parameters and alignments of software made possible to optimize the time of data collection and creation of photogrammetric model. Integration of data from photogrammetric analyse and evaluation of rock mass quality (based on information on drilling parameters) allows appropriate design of location and mass of blasting materials as well as number of blasting holes. The use of the system solutions allows also to assess output fragmentation based on 3D model created, in the context of shooting effects control. Integration of different available technologies (such as: drones, GNSS, explosives, drilling, computer designing, data collection and exchange) allows therefore to increase quality of drill and blast service. But first of all the use of Matterhorn system makes possible to improve occupational health and safety, because of shortening the time of workers presence in the open pit as well as elimination of people mistakes during drilling holes and shooting designing. Thanks to optimization of production processes it therefore allows to improve economic effects of open pit exploitation.
