The publication discusses the concept of modern embedded systems that can be programmed and build in bigger systems in order to ensure the safety of people with disabilities. Article presents the definition of embedded system and, also, introduces the definition of the author. What is more, article briefly presents the most popular and developed in the fastest way exemplary systems: ARM, STM32, Raspberry PI, Sony Spresense and NvidiaJetson. Moreover, the main reasons were described why the embedded systems are used in more and more solutions and the factors that strengthen this trend have been noted: labor costs reduction through automation, reduction of costs of development of a new product through the possibility of making quick changes and reduction of product testing time, value creation potential and, also, the way to individualize the possibilities of electronics. Also, the examples of usage of those systems were presented. Finally, the practical side of programming and testing the embedded systems were described: ‘radar‘ (a torch) for blind people, help with balance disorders and the device to help with problems with orientation in space. In the conclusions, author shapes the estimated potential future of electronics supported with modern embedded systems, which as author believes makes this article the comprehensive study.
In general, the production processes are more and more complex. This is the result of more and more sophisticated materials used, the pressure to save them as well as other production resources (ecological perspective), also the tendency to buy mobile products lighter and less power consuming than before. In previous years using highly specialized technology was very costly for the company. Nowadays, this situation is possible to be changed because of emerging types of modern micro-controllers and variety of compatible sensors. Some of those micro-controllers are more power saving, some are more powerful in terms of computing power. The common denominator is that both purchasing them as well as programming is possible for ordinary person, a hobbyist building DIY projects. This sheds new light to the professional usage of modern micro-controllers-based solutions that can become possible to offer comparable level of precision at the fraction of cost. The authors recognized the strong potential in modern micro-controllers and made the research among professionals in the area of production companies. The outcome of research showed that the professionals share the opinion of the authors. Therefore, the outbreak of usage of such inexpensive solutions in professional applications is expected. However, the research showed, that there is possible to find single situations, where usage of modern micro-controllers may be limited, for example in the company targeted to produce hand-made products or handicraft (manufacture).
The historical achievements of International Business Machines gave the foundations for IBM Global Services company, which became a new step in development of IBM Corporation. The biggest rival of IBM Global Services, EDS, generated revenues that were nearly doubled by IGS revenues ($36.6bln) and revenues of the next rival in raw,Accenture, were more than tripled. The market share of IGS was 8,2% at that time and it was the highest percentage among all companies operating in professional computer services industry. In the last quarter of year 2000 IBM Global Services grew around 5%. At that time, the revenues from e-business services begun to grow 70% year over year. In described SWOT analysis positive aspects (strengths and opportunities) prevailed. The most important strengths of IBM Global Services are global position on the market and universalism of the offered services. Main weakness of the company lies in the lack of ability of fast bringing new services to the market. The existence of strong, well-known competitors like Hewlett-Packard and Accenture is the main recognized threat. At corporate level, IBM points in invention and development in terms of information technologies. IBM operates on global market in global industry with ethnocentric strategy. IBM Global Services has the long term objectives: technological leadership, competitive position and profitability. The IGM’s main generic strategy is still differentiation. In the opinion of the author, IBM Global Services provides concentric diversification. Considering the grand strategies, IGS’s management should make its further decisions basing on the ability to maintain the human resources.
Great discoveries started the era of highly increasing trade and, in fact, the era of globalization. The second stage of globalization was after Second World War. The economic liberalization was one of the bases for raise of multinational companies. Today multinational companies account for more than two-thirds of world trade. The process of global production has place. The notation, where the product was made now is just marking the place where product was completed. These processes have economical reasons, f. ex.: cost of labor, availability of skilled and equipped stuff, tariffs, cost of raw materials, level of technology required to build planned product, stability of economies of the country the MNC (multi national companies) are going to invest in, infrastructures in such countries, taxation levels, law transparency, political stability, political maturity and more. According to Whitley the most important factor determining each national business system is path dependence defined as the dependence of economic outcomes on the path of previous outcomes. Future is the variable of today and –mainly- of the historical events. Whitley states that emerged in twentieth century business systems differs in forms of organization and control, types of dominant firms, relationships between customers and suppliers and work systems. Despite the growing role of globalization, national business systems seem not to be flexible to its influence. Finally, countries seem to specify in their business systems.
Constructivism is a perspective in philosophy that consider all knowledge as "constructed". Constructivism is depended on convention, social experience and human perception. It can be also perceived as a set of assumptions regarding to the nature of human learning that provide teaching methods and the representative of constructivism is learning from those theories as well. From the teacher-student perspective, constructivists consider directed learning initiated by the student. The role of the teacher is to be supportive and enhance the development. In the Roque Trader movie, the main character shows deteriorating behavior, mostly because of the lack of supportive and developing teacher. Jean Piaget was the main person who formalized constructivism and valued the mechanisms that make knowledge internal for the learner. He admitted that the knowledge must be assimilated by learned basing on his previous experience. In the opinion of the author this approach could not work in terms of the situation presented in the movie. Contrary, the main character, when see that is still able to avoid the consequences, it enhances him to make next bad decisions. The constructivism approach can be very useful to social research. However, not always. The learner (researcher) should put special pressure in order to understand the culture and context of the knowledge that he or she is gaining. It is also researcher’s obligation to stay objective no matter of his or her particular businesses. This turned out to be the problematic in case of the main character of te movie, who became the fatal roque trader.
