The article describes the role of the Scrum Master as a servant leader in the context of managing virtual project teams. The basics of the Scrum methodology were discussed, with focus on the role of Scrum Master in the Scrum team. The definition and concepts of service leadership were presented. Based on the analyzes, factors influence on effective performing the role of Scrum Master as a servant leader of a virtual project team were presented. The analysis allows to state that the scope of Scrum Master's duties comes down to the three most important items: increasing the effectiveness of project teams by protecting them against work disruptions, educating project teams, and other company members about the work principles promoted by Scrum, and motivating the team to work in self-organizing way. All these actions in case of cooperation with virtual teams are more demanding for the Scrum Master and require highly developed soft skills from him.

W artykule przedstawiono rolę Scrum Mastera jako służebnego przywódcy wirtualnych zespołów projektowych realizujących projekty informatyczne. Omówiono podstawy metodyki Scrum, w tym w szczególności rolę Scrum Mastera w Zespole Scrumowym. Zaprezentowano definicję i koncepcje przywództwa służebnego. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych analiz przedstawiono czynniki wpływające na skuteczne pełnienie roli Scrum Mastera w środowisku wirtualnym. Dokonana analiza pozwala na stwierdzenie, że zakres obowiązków Scrum Mastera sprowadza się do trzech najważniejszych obszarów: zwiększania efektywności zespołów projektowych poprzez ich ochronę przed zaburzeniami pracy, edukacji zespołów projektowych i pozostałych członków przedsiębiorstwa o zasadach pracy propagowanych przez Scrum oraz motywowania zespołu do pracy w sposób samoorganizujący się. Wszystkie te działania w przypadku współpracy z zespołami wirtualnymi są bardziej wymagające dla Scrum Mastera i wymagają od niego wysoko rozwiniętych kompetencji miękkich.

The main aim of this study is to present the role of anthropogenic habitats created by the remnants of old iron ore mining activities in preserving the ancient woodland plant species (AWS). The studies, which took place in 2010-2015, covered 30 former post-mining fields in the northern foreland of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains (SE Poland). Each field contains the remnants of old iron ore mining – gob piles and the areas not transformed by mining, which surround the heaps. Within each post-mining fields, two lists (on gob piles and in their surroundings) covering the AWS were prepared. Additionally, two substrate samples were taken – one from the randomly selected gob pile, and one from the non-transformed site. The relationships between the numbers of AWS and selected environmental variables were analysed by statistical methods. It was found that the difference in the number of AWS characteristic of the Querco-Fagetea class between gob piles and their surroundings is significant. The conducted analyses indicated that this difference is not resulting from the difference in the areas between gob piles and their surroundings but from the pH of the substrate. The numbers of the mesophilous AWS in gob piles are not uniform and range from 3 to 37 and are correlated with the age of gob piles, the pH values and the depth of the iron ore deposits. At present, the remnants of old ore mining – gob piles constitute the sole habitat islands for the ancient mesophilous deciduous woodland species within the northern foreland of the Świętokrzyskie Mts.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienie oceny sukcesu projektów o różnym poziomie złożoności. Omówiono kryteria oceny sukcesu projektu oraz rozstrzygnięto kwestie definicyjne związane z pojęciem złożoność projektu. Zaprezentowano klasyfikację projektów z uwzględnieniem kryterium złożoności projektów. Przedstawiono wyniki badań empirycznych dotyczące oceny sukcesu w projektach o wysokiej, średniej i niskiej złożoności. Dokonana analiza wyników badań pozwala na stwierdzenie, że najwyżej oceniono sukces w projektach o niskiej złożoności, a najniżej w projektach o wysokiej złożoności.

The article describes the issue related to the success in projects of varying complexity. The project success criteria and defining of the project complexity were showed. The project classification taking into account the criterion of project complexity was presented. The results of the empirical studies in context the evaluating of the success in projects of high, medium and low complexity were showed. The analyses of the obtained results indicates that the level of success in low complexity projects was highest and in high complexity projects was lowest.

W artykule omówiono zagadnienia związane z definiowaniem oraz oceną sukcesu w zarządzaniu projektami. Na podstawie pogłębionej analizy literatury przedstawiono ewolucję podejścia do definiowania sukcesu projektu oraz scharakteryzowano zagadnienia krytycznych czynników sukcesu oraz kryteriów oceny sukcesu projektu. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań empirycznych w kontekście oceny sukcesu projektów realizowanych przez kierowników projektów z obszaru województwa śląskiego. Dokonana analiza wyników badań prowadzi do stwierdzenie, że projekty objęte badaniem charakteryzowały się relatywnie wysokim poziomem sukcesu, a wśród uwzględnionych w badaniu kryteriów oceny sukcesu projektu wyżej oceniono kryteria podstawowe, tzw. techniczne.

The article describes the issue related to defining and the evaluating of the success in the project management. Based on a in-depth literature review the evolution of the approach to defining the project success was presented as well as critical success factors and project success criteria were discussed. The results of the empirical studies in context the evaluating of the success of the projects which were managed by Silesian project managers were presented. The analyses of the obtained results indicates that these projects were characterized by relatively high level of project success and among used in this study project success criteria higher were evaluated the basic (technical) criteria.

W artykule omówiono zagadnienia dotyczące sukcesu w projektach o różnym znaczeniu strategicznym dla organizacji. Na podstawie pogłębionej analizy literatury przedstawiono różnorodne klasyfikacje projektów oraz scharakteryzowano typologię projektów z punktu widzenia ich znaczenia strategicznego dla organizacji. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań empirycznych odnoszące się do oceny sukcesu w projektach strategicznych, taktycznych i operacyjnych. Dokonana analiza wyników badań pozwala na stwierdzenie, że najwyżej oceniono sukces w projektach strategicznych dla funkcjonowania organizacji, a najniżej w projektach operacyjnych, co może wynikać z różnego poziomu kompetencji menedżerów zarządzających tego typu projektami.

The article describes the issue related to the success in the project which have the different strategic importance for organization. Based on a in-depth literature review presents the various classification of the projects and characterizes the typology of project in terms of their strategic importance for organization. The results of the empirical studies in context the evaluating of the success in the strategic, tactical and operational projects was presented. The analyses of the obtained results indicates that the highest scores of success were in strategic projects and the lowest scores In operational projects. This may result of various level of competency of managers in this type of projects.

The human induced changes affect the transformation of different plant communities. In some cases this process can contribute to increase in local biodiversity, but it depends on type and manner of human activity involved. The main aim of this study is to answer the question how two anthropogenic factors (former and current) can modify the species composition in forest phytocoenoses. The study area is situated in the southern Poland (Małopolska Upland). The studies were carried out on two former (19th century) mining fields where planting Common Beech Fagus sylvatica (field A) and Scots Pine Pinus sylvestris (field B) have been done since the first half of the 20th century. On gob piles (sites transformed by former iron-ore mining), single-species beech (field A) or pine (field B) tree stands are undergoing secondary succession, and transform into multi-species, fertile deciduous forests. This secondary communities corresponding to the types of new, fertile soils (formed by clayey-loamy material of gob piles), generated as a result of mining activities. Whereas, on non-transformed areas forest communities with floristic structures and composition linked to poor and acidophilous phytocoenoses developed. These communities are also compatible with their respective, primary habitats (acid, poor, and sandy soils). Nonetheless, the secondary succession of forest communities on gob piles can be disturbed. In the herb layer of fertile habitats of post-mining sites where Pinus sylverstis was planted (field B) acidophilous species among mesophilous forest species were noted. This process of acidification of humus layer is induced by the fall of needles of pines and it has not been observed in communities with planted Fagus sylvatica (field A). It was found that previous mining activities now affect the secondary succession in the forest communities of northern part of the Małopolska Upland because they have created new habitats where process of forming mesophilous phytocoenoses was observed. Accordingly, former human activity leads to the increase in local biodiversity. On the other side current forest management can reduce this effect as a result of planting tree species which acidify these fertile habitats and suppressed the occurrence of mesophilous forest species, what, by contrast, decrease the species richness.

W artykule zaprezentowano istotę i znaczenie procesu zarządzania ryzykiem w projekcie jako kluczowej, dla pomyślnego zakończenia projektu, dziedziny zarządzania projektami. Na podstawie przeglądu literatury zdefiniowano pojęcia ryzyka i zarządzania ryzykiem oraz scharakteryzowano poszczególne etapy procesu zarządzania ryzykiem. Omówiono proces zarządzania ryzykiem na przykładzie projektu wdrożenia nowego produktu na rynek w przedsiębiorstwie należącym do sektora MSP. Dokonane studium przypadku prowadzi do stwierdzenia, że nawet w małych projektach, zarządzanie ryzykiem jest konieczne, natomiast odpowiednie wykorzystanie ku temu narzędzi oraz świadomość kierownictwa organizacji, dotycząca występowania ryzyka i związanych z nim konsekwencji, znacznie ułatwiają sam proces i zwiększają prawdopodobieństwo pozytywnej realizacji projektu.

The article presents the role and the meaning the project risk management process as a key area in the project management for the successful completion of the project. Based on a literature review concept of the risk and the risk management was defined and the various stages of the project risk management process was described. The risk management process for example of the project of the implementation a new product on the market was discussed. The risk management process the case of the project of the implementation a new product on the market was discussed. The case study leads to the conclusion that even in the case of small projects the risk management is necessary. The appropriate use of tools and the awareness of the management regarding the prevalence of the risk facilitates the risk management process and increases the likelihood of success of the project.

Artykuł dotyczy analizy procesu zaopatrzenia w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym branży budowlanej. Badane przedsiębiorstwo zajmuje się produkcją mieszanki mineralno-asfaltowej. W opracowaniu opisano aktualny przebieg procesu zaopatrzenia, a następnie dokonano analizy istniejącego stanu procesu zaopatrzenia. Po dogłębnej analizie, zaproponowano usprawnienia w postaci automatyzacji poziomu kontroli zapasów oraz zrezygnowania z transportu własnego surowców, niezbędnych do produkcji, od dostawców w celu zminimalizowania ponoszonych kosztów.

The article concerns the analysis of the current supply process in the selected company from the construction industry. Examined company is engaged in manufacturing asphalt mix. The study describes the current process of supply, and then analyzes the current state of the procurement process. After careful consideration, it is proposed to improve the level of automation in the form of inventory control and abandon their own transport raw materials required to manufacture, from suppliers to minimize costs.

Zaprezentowano genezę wyodrębnienia procesów w organizacji oraz klasyfikację procesów logistycznych w przedsiębiorstwie. W dalszej części artykułu omówiono rolę i znaczenie zarządzania przepływem materiałowym (procesami logistycznymi) w kompleksowej koncepcji zarządzania logistycznego.

W artykule zaprezentowano znaczenie przywództwa, jako istotnego czynnika wpływającego na skuteczne zakończenie projektu, w odniesieniu do kierownika projektu. W opracowaniu zawarto rozważania dotyczące występujących na przestrzeni ostatniego wieku teorii związanych z przywództwem i ich odniesienia do zarządzania projektami. W głównej mierze skupiono się na teorii kompetencji przywódczych jako jednej z najbardziej aktualnych teorii stosowanej w badaniach nad przywództwem. Omówiono stan badań na gruncie literatury krajowej i zagranicznej w kontekście przywództwa kierownika projektu i sukcesu projektu, na podstawie którego wykazano fragmentaryczność dotychczasowego dorobku oraz konieczność dalszych badań w tej dziedzinie. Zaproponowano dalsze badania w kierunku określenia wpływu kompetencji przywódczych kierownika projektu na sukces projektu w warunkach polskich.

The article presents the meaning of the leadership in relation to the project manager as an important factor which influence on the successful completion of the project. The paper shows the discussion concerning occurring in the last century theories relating to the leadership and their relation to the project management. The focus was mainly on theory of leadership competencies as one of the most current theories used in research on leadership. Discussed the state of research on the basis of domestic and foreign literature in the context of the leadership of the project manager, project success and on these basis show fragmentariness of hitherto achievements and the necessity for further research in this area. The further researches towards identifying the impact of leadership competencies of the project manager for the success of the project in the polish conditions were proposed.

Celem artykułu jest prezentacja czynników wpływających na dobór oprogramowania wspierającego działalność projektową organizacji w obszarze. Z tego względu, w ramach opracowania, przeprowadzono syntetyczny przegląd dostępnej literatury w zakresie czynników wpływających na dobór narzędzi wspierających zarządzanie projektami oraz zaprezentowano dostępne narzędzia informatyczne wspierające ten obszar działalności. Na podstawie wywiadów z pracownikami przedsiębiorstw odpowiedzialnymi za zarządzanie zmianami w obszarze logistyki oraz doświadczeń własnych autorów dokonano analizy powyż-szych zagadnień w kontekście zarządzania zmianą w logistyce.

The aim of this article is to present the factors affecting the choice of software to support changes in the area of logistics activities of organizations and presentation of commercially available solutions in this respect. A comprehensive overview of the available literature regarding the factors affecting the choice of tools to support project management and the opportunities of these tools was conducted. Based on interviews with employees of companies responsible for the management of change in the area of logistics and the own experience of authors was analyzed these issues in the context of change management in logistics.

Omówiono planowanie jakości, zapewnienie jakości oraz kontrolę jakości jako procesy składowe zarządzania jakością w projekcie, jak również przedstawiono normy ISO, których zakres obejmuje zagadnienia związane z zarządzaniem jakością w projektach.

Discussed are quality planning, quality assurance and quality control as components of the process of quality management in the project. In addition, in article presents standards ISO, which contains the scope of the issues related to the quality management in projects.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie projektu modernizacji hali produkcyjnej na przykładzie wybranego przedsiębiorstwa, który stworzono w oparciu o własną obserwację i wywiady przeprowadzone z kierownictwem badanego podmiotu oraz studium literatury z zakresu rozpatrywanej tematyki. W pierwszej kolejności omówiono teoretyczne ujęcie pojęcia projekt oraz wskazano jego cechy. Ponadto zdefiniowano również podstawowe etapy w zarządzaniu projektem i wiążące się z nimi działania. W dalszej części artykułu zaprezentowano analizę przypadku zarządzania projektem modernizacji hali produkcyjnej w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym. W ramach studium przypadku określono cel projektu, przedstawiono strukturę podziału pracy wraz ze wskazaniem kamieni milowych projektu, opracowano harmonogram realizacji projektu oraz budżet projektu.

The aim of this article is to present the basic issues and definition of project management and as a consequence the project plan of modernization of the production hall. The project plan will bases on own observations, interviews developed with management of the company and the study of literature concerning this subject. The analyzed company belongs to the SME sector and the scope of its business is the production of food. It is located on territory of the region of Silesia. Results of the work will include Work Break Structure, project schedule in a form of Gantt chart, project budget with the resources needed to implement the project. It will also identify the project team who will be responsible for the project.

Artykuł stanowi przegląd literaturowy dotyczący reakcji fotopolimeryzacji z wykorzystaniem monomerów sieciujących. Omówiono wyniki nowych badań przebiegu i kinetyki fotopolimeryzacji kompozycji wieloskładnikowych. Przedstawiono również możliwości otrzymywania techniką fotopolimeryzacji mieszanin polimerowych, nanokompozytów oraz stałych elektrolitów polimerowych. Zasygnalizowano kierunki zastosowań reakcji fotopolimeryzacji oraz uzyskanych na tej drodze materiałów polimerowych.

The paper is a review concerning photopolymerization reaction with use of crosslinking monomers. The results of new investigations concerning the course and kinetics of photopolymerization of multicomponent compositions (Fig. 1-3) are discussed. The possibility of preparation of polymer blends, nanocomposites (Fig. 6, 7) or solid polymer electrolytes (Fig. 4, 5) via photopolymerization has been presented as well. The directions of applications of photopolymerization reaction and polymeric materials prepared in this way are also mentioned.
