The article characterises the sea-going vessel hull assembly processes and then reviews the existing assembly methods of mechanisms and welded ship structures. Classification of these methods is done with respect to selected criteria of their applicability to hull assembly. Selected methods are used for calculations performed on a model structure and exemplary database. The analysed aspects include the performance of calculation algorithms and the quality of the obtained solutions. Particular attention is paid to the need for reduction of experts’ participation in the planning process due to strong search space explosion effect. The performed analyses have enabled the authors to formulate assumptions for models which would be applicable in real assembly planning in shipyards, as well as to indicate areas of further research which would make it possible to better consider the specificity of production of large-size welded structures.
This paper presents assessment of technological usefulness of panel production line in prefabrication process of large ship hull sections, in which special attention is paid to producibility of welding operations. Basing on the assessment these authors worked out hierarchy of analyzed sequences of welding technological processes as well as production line stands used for the processes. The assessment was performed on the basis of analysis of a concept of panel production line based on real production lines functioning in shipbuilding industry, as well as technical documentation of typical hull sections of a multi-purpose ferry. The presented analysis took into account impact of technological - constructional parameters onto producibility of welding process of prefabricated sections. Among these parameters the following were numbered: mass of the sections and number of their elements, total length of welds, labour consumption, material consumption as well as linear heat input in welding operations. On the basis of the achieved results, places which worsen effectiveness of production line operation were identified, as a result it was possible to formulate proposals for modernization of flow prefabrication line for hull sections.
The paper characterises a class of problems for packing boxes in the container. It presents the current state of knowledge in this area and distinguishes evolutionary algorithms, as the most promising in the search for quasi-optimal loading conditions. The method proposed in the paper focuses on certain criteria important from a practical point of view, which in a formalised manner have not been included so far in the solving-problems models. Apart from the traditional consideration of the problem of three-dimensional space loading maximisation, the proposed method considers the deviation of the loaded container weight centre from its symmetry planes and the availability of packages during unloading. New elements in the described method are: the applied criteria, penalty function, way of coding the container loading state in the evolutionary algorithm and fast crossover and mutations operators dedicated to the adopted coding. It was observed that the evolution in the developed algorithm occurs properly, that is seeking to minimise the criteria. The article also includes a calculation example showing the effect of the method with the discussion of the results indicating the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed solution. The performance of the algorithm has been considered in the context of time necessary to obtain the acceptable solution and quality of the obtained solution. It was found that the algorithm in its current form is a strong base for its further improvement.
W artykule scharakteryzowano problematykę sterowania ruchem na skrzyżowaniach potoków ruchu samochodowego i pieszego. Zwrócono uwagę na zagadnienie kolizyjności skrzyżowań i zagrożenia dla bezpieczeństwa uczestników ruchu. Zaproponowano rozwiązanie dedykowane niewielkim skrzyżowaniom o znacznej, powtarzalnej, zmienności natężenia. Metoda opiera się na algorytmie ewolucyjnym, którego rozwiązaniem jest plan pracy sygnalizacji świetlnej podczas całego cyklu podzielonego na fazy. Informacje o ruchu na skrzyżowaniu w różnych porach doby stanowią kluczowe dane wejściowe do obliczeń. Są one gromadzone podczas standardowych badań natężenia ruchu.

The article describes the problems of traffic control at the crossroads of streams of automotive traffic and pedestrian. Attention was drawn to the issue of collisions at junctions and the danger for safety of road traffic participants. We proposed a solution dedicated for small junctions with significant, repeatable, variability of intensity. The method is based on evolutionary algorithm whose solution is a traffic lights work plan during whole cycle divided into separate phases. Information about traffic on junction in different times of the day pose entrance key data for calculations. They are collected during standard research of traffic intensity.
The presented paper is concerned with the problems of assessing the risk level for service chain of refrigerated containers in seaports. This issue has been examined with regard to the losses related to the loss of cargo’s qualitative values. The paper identifies the links in the service chain as well as related hazards and events resulting in losses. The term “chain” has been defined for the refrigerated container service chain. Material losses generated by the loss of cargo’s qualitative values have also been examined. The paper suggests and justifies functional and numeric risk measures. With regard to the examined process the study presents the elements of loss modelling methodology. The risk level has been evaluated using selected calculation examples, considering the impact of the probability of events resulting in losses.
The aim of the article is presenting a mathematical model of the assembly process of large-size marine structures. Numerical encoding approach of essential features of the structure and welding methods is proposed. The model takes into account information about the geometry of the connections between elements and their orientation in space during the assembly process. Welding processes are characterized by positions range of their application. The assembly process is shown as a matrix form. Assembly planning is based on the allocation of welding processes into stages and the selection of welding method and assembly position for each stage. It is shown that a lot of such plans can be generated and many of them are unacceptable. Space of feasible plans is defined by set of constraints. These conditions verify that the assembly plan performs a task of welding of all joints and whether it is feasible for particular methods. The methods for calculating the impact of all conditions . an accurate deterministic and randomized approximate are proposed. It is shown that assumed conditions dramatically reduce the set of assembly plans. Moreover, the method of including additional conditions into the model according to the connections making sequence is presented. Sample calculations are shown in two examples . first that is extremely simplified, allowing for a full deterministic analysis of the problem, and a second that is more complex, requiring a partial approximate approach. The article indicates the possibility of using the optimization of the assembly plan. Furthermore, the set of applicable criteria is proposed.
In this paper the present state of grouping technology theory is discussed. Attention is paid to lack of publications on grouping methods based on linear operators instead of classical incidence matrices. A computation algorithm for generating three-dimensional groups has been proposed. Every group contains joined structures, working cells and final (output) structures. Operation of the algorithm has been compared with results gained from literature sources dealing with binary grouping. And, calculations based on real assembly sequencing of a set of ship hull sections, have been performed.
W artykule opisano zjawisko zamarzania automatów oddechowych, przedstawiono statystykę wypadków nurkowych oraz ich związek z zamarzaniem automatów. Przedstawiono także wyniki badań awaryjności automatów oddechowych związanych z zamarzaniem zarówno w laboratorium, jak i w warunkach rzeczywistych.

The article describes the phenomenon of freezing of diving regulators and presents the statistics of diving accidents and their relation to regulator freeze-ups. The article also presents the results of failure frequency tests on diving regulators conducted in the laboratory as well as in real conditions.
The paper proposes a method of numerical encoding of large welded structures with the use of multisets. The method takes the types of details and connections that occur in structures into consideration. Mathematical optimization model for multistage structure assembly schedule was defined. Comparative analysis of selected decision variants for sample constructions and details sets is presented.
Przedstawiono model optymalizacji struktury i harmonogramu kursowania floty statków do przewozu gazu skroplonego (LNG). Jako kryterium przyjęto minimalizację łącznych kosztów budowy floty i jej eksploatacji. Model może zostać zastosowany dla dowolnej trasy kursowania. Uwzględnia on ograniczenia wymiarów statków oraz zapotrzebowanie na gaz. Przedstawiono przykład zastosowania modelu dla terminalu w Świnoujściu.

There is presented a model for optimizing the structure and schedule of traveling of a fleet of LNG tankers. As a criterion was assumed to minimize the total construction costs of the fleet and its operation. The model can be applied to any gas transportation route. It takes into account limits of vessels size and the demand for gas. There is shown an example of application of the model for terminal in Świnoujscie.

Celem artykułu jest propozycja sposobu zamodelowania problemu wyboru dostawców przy zmiennym zapotrzebowaniu. Model uwzględnia liczebność dyspozycyjnej floty oraz jej parametry eksploatacyjne. Jako kryterium optymalizacyjne przyjęto minimalizację łącznego kosztu zakupu towaru od wszystkich dostawców. Funkcjonowanie modelu zilustrowano przykładem dostaw skroplonego gazu zbiornikowcami do terminalu w Świnoujściu.

The aim of this article is to present the model of a problem of suppliers selection taking into account a variable demand. The size of the dispositional fleet and its operational parameters are taken into consideration in the supply model. Minimization of the total cost of purchasing from all suppliers is adopted as the optimization criterion. The model functioning is illustrated by an example of the liquefied natural gas supply to the terminal in Świnoujście.
There are investigated technologies and organizational rules aiming at the lowest cost of ship fabrication in shipyards all over the world. That is a common activity of entertainments in conditions of limited production resources and market concurrence. One of the manner of cutting production costs is a minimization of turnover founds bound up in stock materials. Correctness of that manner is approved by Far East shipyards applying lean philosophy in a ship production organization. Taking into consideration production delay caused by process disturbances, the minimization of stock materials quantity is possible applying control of hull building supplies using econometric models. These models can be applied for prognosis of production units activity and prognosis of creation of process disturbances and losses as well. In the paper methodology of model creation is presented and required input data assemblage is described. There is also stressed the importance of the proper statistical data.

We wszystkich stoczniach na świecie poszukuje się technologii oraz rozwiązań organizacyjnych dających szansę na realizację podstawowego celu, jakim jest obniżenie kosztu wytworzenia statku. Jest to naturalne zachowanie przedsiębiorstw funkcjonujących w warunkach ograniczonych zasobów produkcyjnych i silnej konkurencji na rynku. Jednym ze sposobów na obniżenie kosztów wytwarzania jest zmniejszenie poziomu środków obrotowych zamrożonych w zapasach. Poprawność tego podejścia wykazana została przez dalekowschodnie stocznie stosujące filozofię lean w organizacji swoich procesów produkcyjnych. Monimalizacja zapasów, przy dużej ilości opóźnień produkcyjnych powodowanych szeregiem zakłóceń procesów, jest możliwa poprzez sterowanie zaopatrzeniem procesu budowy kadłuba przy zastosowaniu modeli ekonometrycznych. Modele te można użyć do prognozowania zachowań jednostek produkcyjnych, kształtowania się zakłóceń przebiegu procesów, oraz związanych z tym strat. W opracowaniu przedstawiono metodykę budowania modeli oraz opisano niezbędne zbiory informacji wejściowych. Zwrócono uwagę na znaczenie właściwie opracowanej bazy danych statystycznych, która jest podstawą podejścia probabilistycznego.
W opracowaniu wskazano na wzrost zainteresowania wśród polskich przedsiębiorców systemowym podejściem do zarządzania BHP oraz wdrożeniem systemu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem pracy (SZBP), w formie zintegrowanej z systemem zarządzania jakością (SZJ). Zwrócono uwagę na brak zunifikowanych przepisów i norm dotyczących tej kwestii. Opisano relacje między normami ISO 9001/2/3 a BS 8800, poziom integracji SZJ i SZBP na poziomie tychże norm. Przedstawiono model zintegrowanego systemu zarządzania jakością i bezpieczeństwem pracy (ZSZJBP). Określono również korzyści płynące z integracji SZJ i SZBP, zarówno finansowe, jak i wynikające z wizerunku firmy posiadająćej ZSZJiBP.

The main focus in the paper is put on the growth of the interest among Polish entrepreneurs in the comprehensive attitude towards the management of Health and Safety-at-work Legislation as well as in the implementation of the Management System of Health and Safety-at-work in the integrated form with Quality Management System. As far as the subject matter is concerned, no unified rules and norms have been found. Moreover, the paper includes the description of the relation between the norms of ISO 9001/2/3 and BS 8800, the level of integration of Quality Management System and the Management System of Health and Safety-at-work Legislation on the level of these norms. Furthermore, the model of integrated Quality Management System and Safety-at-work has been pointed. Finally, some benefits have been specified as a consequence of the integration of Quality Management System and the Management System of Health and Safety-at-work. These are as follows: the financial profits as well as the benefits resulted from the image of the firm containing Quality Management System and the Management System of Health and Safety-at-work.
