Purpose: The following two main research questions were addressed in this article: 1) Which employees’ interests are the most important for Ukrainian migrant workers? 2) To what extent companies ensure the interests of Ukrainian migrant workers? Since migration is often associated with precarious employment, the problems of the relationship between the form of employment and the interests of migrants were examined as well. Design/methodology/approach: For the purpose of this paper, such methods as literature survey of publications indexed mainly in Scopus database and empirical research in the form of a survey were used. The survey was carried out in 2020 in Poland and the respondents were Ukrainian workers. The research was conducted using the PAPI technique and based on a with the use of a representative sample. Findings: Empirical research shows that the most important interests of migrants (of 22 analyzed interests) are salaries adequate to duties, ensuring good occupational safety and health, and clear evaluation criteria. At the same time, the second and third of the indicated interests are mostly ensured by employers, regardless of the form of employment in which the respondents work. This leads to certain practical and theoretical implications. Practical implications: The Ukrainian population is gradually growing in Poland which results from the armed conflict and the difficult economic situation in Ukraine. Therefore, the presented research is utmost valid. Originality/value: The concept of socially responsible HRM (SRHRM) emerged as an element of CSR focused on the inside of the company (its employees treated as the most important stakeholders). Surveys devoted to the implementation of the concept of CSR are carried out mainly among employees who are citizens of the country where the enterprise surveyed is headquartered. The issue of migration is discussed rather from the perspective of such academic disciplines as economics and sociology than the discipline of human resource management. This study aims to fill the gap in research on SRHRM through examining the HRM practices in the context of migrant workers with a focus on employee interests.

The paper attempts to determine whether the issue of the effect on people's behaviour in the area of occupational safety and health is perceived in the same way by experienced workers as by those who are just beginning their activity in the labour market. The following questions were answered: what may be the reasons for the inappropriate behaviour of employees in the area of occupational safety and health, what motivators should be used to avoid inappropriate behaviour of employees? The survey showed that according to younger respondents, inappropriate staff behaviour results from the lack of example from a supervisor, while older workers consider that this is related to the behaviour of other employees. For more experienced workers, failure to follow occupational safety and health guidelines is caused by the fact that the personal protective equipment required is often uncomfortable, while younger respondents did not perceive subjective physical discomfort as a cause of non-compliance with internal safety regulations; they more often indicated that this was due to staff laziness. The identified hierarchy of motivators perceived by respondents as the most effective is the same for both groups surveyed; persuasive and sanction-based influence was considered the most effective. A group of younger respondents showed a greater willingness to punish workers who do not use the necessary protective equipment. The two groups of respondents also differ in opinions on the methods of using the persuasive influence on employees in the context of improving the area of OSH in the enterprise.

In pointing out the sources of success of contemporary enterprises, increasing importance is attached to people and their work, in particular, to safe and healthy working conditions. It is also emphasized that in order to improve occupational safety and health in an enterprise, it is necessary to use appropriate organizational methods to encourage the involvement of employees in these activities. The paper discusses the use of the assumptions of gamification as a tool for increasing employee involvement in raising the level of OSH in the enterprise. The study was aimed at interpreting and critically assessing the previous scientific output devoted to the analysed issues. Within the framework of presentation of case studies of enterprises, critical analysis (including analysis mainly in terms of showing the relationship between shaping occupational safety and health and the use of gamification) concerned the case of an enterprise operating in Poland in which activities for the improvement of working conditions conducive to raising the level of occupational safety and health were conducted on the assumptions of gamification.

Food safety means all the conditions that have to be met and actions that have to be taken at all stages of food production or sales to protect human health and life. Studies have demonstrated that organic food is considered by consumers to be healthier and safer than conventional food produced by means of intensive farming methods. In this context, the interest in organic food among both consumers and distributors is increasing. This means that there are many factors determining organic food production. Among them are those related to competencies that affect product safety, which represents a guarantee that the enterprise will achieve market success and is one of the sources of competitiveness for such enterprises. Therefore, the aim of the study was to present assessment of soft competencies of laboratory employees by their immediate superiors. The problem was identified more closely as a case study of the corporation that produces organic foods, whereas assessment of competencies was compared to the specific features of the food sector the enterprise operates in, with the examples of the branches located in Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania.

Responsibility for the credibility and quality of an organic product lies with the entrepreneur. It is therefore in the entrepreneur’s interest to recruit competent employees who stimulate the desired behaviours and activities conducive to the achievement of strategic goals connected with production of products with the quality expected by consumers of organic foods. Therefore, it was considered purposeful to analyse the issues of competencies of production workers' in relation to the Robles' set of soft skills. The topics discussed in the study include knowledge, skills, and internal motivation of the employees. A closer examination of the discussed problems was conducted with the example of a corporation X for its branches located in Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania which produce organic flour. The five-point Likert scale was used in the empirical examinations.
