Comparative analysis of the fuel consumption of vehicles equipped with various types of automatic transmissions

The growing number of vehicles moving on Polish roads equipped with various types of automatic transmissions prompted the authors of this publication to carry out research to assess the impact of the use of this type of transmission on the fuel consumption of these vehicles. The presented article presents a comparative analysis of the fuel consumption of vehicles of different manufacturers equipped with automatic transmissions moving in specially prepared driving cycles for research purposes. In the developed driving cycle, the vehicle speed was gradually increased every 10 km/h, maintaining each speed for a period of at least 30 seconds in order to stabilize the measurement results. The tests were carried out for various load stages of the drive system. Load differentiation was made by simulating driving in the prepared cycle for simulated different slopes of the road. The tests were carried out on the MAHA MSR500 chassis dynamometer, and the obtained results for the vehicle moving in automatic mode, where the transmission controller selected the gear ratio according to the programmed algorithm, were compared with the vehicle's fuel consumption for the vehicle gear selected by the driver in the driving cycle. The control software used to test the chassis dynamometer allows taking into account the increasing resistance of traffic along with the increase of vehicle speed, which greatly approximates the simulated conditions in the laboratory to the conditions on the road. The main purpose of this publication is to check whether using automatic transmissions or other control algorithm of these gears can achieve a reduction in fuel consumption.

Local government units have an important role in creating local policy on building energy security. Their targeted and proactive actions may result in a significant reduction in consumption of used media, which correlates with a reduction in harmful emissions and reducing their costs. In this article is an attempt to determine the impact of management actions set related to monitoring media consumption to reduce their consumption by local government units of Czestochowa. The studies include the analysis of the results of monitoring conducted since 2003, of the consumption of energy and water media based on the data transferred from the 118 educational buildings administered by institutions subordinate to the city. Determination of the factors generating tangible environmental benefits and financial results can enrich the knowledge base for possible use in other local government units but also to provide measurement in the study of human development in terms of understanding and respect for the common good.

Jednostki samorządu terytorialnego pełnią ważną rolę w kreowaniu lokalnej polityki w zakresie zabezpieczenia energetycznego. Ich ukierunkowane, aktywne działania mogą skutkować znaczną redukcją zużycia wykorzystywanych mediów, co koreluje ze zmniejszeniem emisji szkodliwych substancji oraz ogranicza ponoszone koszty. W artykule podjęto próbę określenia wpływu podejmowanych działań zarządczych związanych z monitorowaniem zużycia mediów na ograniczenie ich zużycia przez jednostki samorządu terytorialnego Miasta Częstochowy. Prowadzone badania obejmują analizę wyników prowadzonego od 2003 roku monitoringu w zakresie zużycia mediów energetycznych oraz wody na podstawie danych przekazywanych ze 118 budynków oświatowych podległych miastu. Określenie czynników generujących wymierne korzyści środowiskowe oraz finansowe może wzbogacać bazę wiedzy dla możliwych zastosowań w innych jednostkach samorządu terytorialnego, ale również stanowić miary w badaniu rozwoju społecznego w zakresie zrozumienia i poszanowania wspólnego dobra.

Częstochowa, jest miastem, na terenie którego znajduje się Jasna Góra – klasztor będący największym w Polsce miejscem kultu maryjnego. Corocznie występuje kongestia ruchu turystycznego związana z ruchem pielgrzymkowym, szczególnie nasilającym się w okresie świąt kościelnych związanych z kultem maryjnym. Kongestia ruchu pielgrzymkowego niesie ze sobą problemy w transporcie zarówno zbiorowym jak i indywidualnym. Zatłoczenie na drogach powodowane przemarszem pieszych pielgrzymek przez miasto generuje wymierne koszty zarówno dla mieszkańców korzystających z własnych środków transportu jak i dla mieszkańców korzystających z transportu zbiorowego, a także dla jednostki samorządu terytorialnego – Gminy Miasta Częstochowa. Koszty te głównie związane są z opóźnieniami, zwiększoną eksploatacją pojazdów, zwiększonym zużyciem paliwa oraz zwiększonym zanieczyszczeniem środowiska. Utrudnienia te wpływają również na pogorszenie komfortu życia mieszkańców.

Czestochowa is a city in which there is Jasna Góra - which is the biggest monastery of Marian Shrine in Poland. Every year there is tourist traffic congestion associated with the movement of pilgrimage, particularly exacerbated during church holidays associated with the cult of the Virgin Mary. Pilgrimage traffic congestion brings problems in the transport of both collective and individual. Congestion caused by march pilgrimages through the city generates measurable costs for residents using their own means of transport as well as for residents using public transport, as well as for the local government - the Municipality of Czestochowa. These costs are primarily related to delays, increased use of vehicles, increased fuel consumption and increased pollution. These difficulties also affect the deterioration of the quality of life of residents.

W artykule poddano analizie ogłaszane od 2005 roku konkursy w kategoriach: produkt turystyczny, pamiątka turystyczna i potrawa regionalna Częstochowy i regionu częstochowskiego oraz ich wpływ na rozwój branży turystycznej. Zaprezentowano laureatów nagrodzonych w latach 2005 – 2011 analizując zainteresowanie tą formą promocji wśród lokalnych przedsiębiorstw związanych z branżą turystyczną. Prowadzone analizy pozwoliły wnioskować, iż ogłaszane konkursy realnie wpływają na wzrost zainteresowania wśród klientów, przekładając się na dochody przedstawicieli branży turystycznej oraz ma wpływ na rozwój branży turystycznej w regionie.

Article analyzes competitions announced since 2005 in all categories: tourist product, tourist souvenir and regional dish of Częstochowa and Częstochowa’s region. There was examined their impact on the development of the tourism industry. Winners awarded in the years 2005 - 2011 were presented also by analyzing the interest in this form of promotion of local businesses related to tourism industry. Analysis allowed to conclude that the activities of competition actually caused an increase in interest among customers, resulting in the income of tourism industry and has an impact on the development of the tourism industry in the region.

Artykuł przedstawia problem logistyki gospodarowania odpadami w aspekcie nowych uregulowań prawnych. Zgodnie ze zmienionym ustawodawstwem to gmina stanie się właścicielem odpadów i będzie zobowiązana do ich transportu, składowania i unieszkodliwiania. Wprowadzone zmiany są zgodne z zasadą zrównoważonego rozwoju i wymagają tworzenia regionów gospodarowania odpadami przez województwa.

Article presents problem of waste management logistics in terms of new regulations. Under the amended legislation, the municipality becomes the owner of the waste and will be responsible for their transportation, storage and disposal. These changes are consistent with sustainable development and require the creation of regional waste management by the province.
