One of the key parameters determining detection properties of silicon PIN detector structures (p⁺-ν-n⁺ or n⁺-ν-p⁺) is minority carrier diffusion length in p-n junction regions p-n (p⁺-ν or n⁺-ν). The parameter concerned strongly depends on quality of the starting material and technological processes conducted and has a significant impact on detector parameters, in particular dark current intensity. Thus, the parameter must be determined in order to optimise the design and technology of detectors. The paper presents a method for measuring the spatial distribution of effective carrier diffusion length in silicon detector structures, based on the measurement of photoelectric current of a non-polarised structure illuminated (spot diameter of 250 μm) with monochromatic radiation of two wavelengths λ₁ = 500 nm (silicon penetration depth of around 0.9 μm) and λ₂ = 900 nm (silicon penetration depth of around 33 μm). The value of diffusion length was determined by analysing the spatial distribution of optical carrier generation and values of photoelectric currents.

W artykule porównano cechy konstrukcyjne oraz parametry balistyczne silników rakietowych foteli katapultowych współczesnych samolotów bojowych. Autorzy dysponowali danymi z prowadzonych badań własnych oraz zebranymi danymi literaturowymi. Własne badania dotyczą foteli typu KM1M, K-36DM (produkcji rosyjskiej) oraz foteli Mk10 (produkcji brytyjskiej). Dane literaturowe zebrano o fotelu ACES II (USA) oraz VS (produkcji czeskiej). W konkluzji pracy stwierdzono, że fotele o różnorodnej konstrukcji i różnej masie charakteryzują się zbliżonymi parametrami kinematycznymi w trakcie katapultowania, co wynika z uwarunkowań fizjologicznych organizmu pilota poddanego dużym przeciążeniom.

A comparison of structural features and ballistic parameters of rocket motors of ejection seats has been made for contemporary combat aircrafts. The authors had the data obtained from their own researches and of collected literature data. The own investigations concerned KM1M, K-36D (Russian made), and Mk10 (British made) ejection seats. Literature data of ACES II (US made) and VS (Czech made) and other ejection seats were collected from websites. In conclusion, it has been stated that ejection seats of various constructions and masses are described by similar kinematic parameters of the ejection process, what results from physiological limitations of pilot organism subjected to a high overload.
