Dzieło Profesora Stefana Kozłowskiego Przyszłość ekorozwoju zajmuje w Jego bogatym dorobku piśmienniczym pozycję szczególną. Sumuje ono bowiem nie tylko stan współczesnej wiedzy w zakresie kształtowania się koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju w skali międzynarodowej, ale także ilustruje ogromny wkład Profesora w tworzenie merytorycznych i organizacyjnych podstaw krajowej strategii ekorozwoju. Przedwczesna śmierć Profesora S. Kozłowskiego (17.09.2007) sprawiła, że jest to zarazem ostatnia Jego publikacja, która ukazała się drukiem za życia Autora.

The work of Professor Stefan Kozlowski future of sustainability is in his extensive literary output a special position. It sums up not only the state of contemporary knowledge in the development of the concept of sustainable development at the international level, but also the contribution of Professor ilustrujeogromny in creating substantive and organizational basis for a national strategy for sustainable development. The premature death of Professor S. Kozlowski (17.09.2007) meant that this is also the last of his publication, which appeared in print for the life of the author.

The paper discusses the ubiquity of silicon and its compounds in the geo-chemical structure of the Earth. The dominant role of mineral oxidized compounds of silicon as the building material of the primordial magma, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks is also shown. The reader's attention is also attracted to the numerous varieties of silicon compounds valued for their intrinsic beauty. Finally, methods of silicon production for electronics purposes are briefly addressed.
