Przedstawiono główne istniejące oraz nowe obowiązki i zadania nato-żone na Biuro do Spraw Substancji i Preparatów Chemicznych. Biuro jest urzędem administracji rządowej, który sprawuje określoną ustawowo kontrolę nad wprowadzaniem do obrotu produktów chemicznych objętych systemem REACH. Główne kompetencje Biura określone są w ustawie o substancjach i preparatach chemicznych. Ponadto od l czerwca 2007 roku Biuro pracuje jako Krajowy Urząd Wfaściwy i Krajowe Centrum Informacyjne ds. REACH.

This article describes the main existing and new duties and tasks imposed on the Bureau for Chemical Substances and Preparations . The Bureau is an institution of governmental administration responsible for the control of placing of chemical products on the market. General duties of the Bureau are specified in Act on chemical substances and preparations, relevant executive regulations and other national or community provisions. Moreover, since June i 1^ 2007 the Bureau has been working as the Polish competent authority according to Article i 2 i of REACH regulation and as the National Helpdesk providing advice to manufactures, importers downstream users and other interested parties on their responsibilities under REACH regulation (according to article 124).
